CHRISTMAS 2023 A.D.
Dear Family and Friends,
2023 is history. (Time flies, whether you are having fun or not.) After wishing you all a Merry Christmas, Easter is just around the corner, and then another mad dash to Christmas 2024! God commands us to be "redeeming the time, because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:16.). We may attempt to explain away the command of God--but it stands nevertheless. Every word of God is exactly like that. It "liveth and abideth for ever" (1 Peter 1:23). Studying the word of God is NEVER a waste of time!
The word of man, on the other hand, is often fickle, rapidly transformed with each change of the wind's religious or political direction. We have learned to distrust the deceptive words of the proud and arrogant politicians and religious leaders of this present evil world. (See Galatians 1:4.) ONLY God's word can be trusted 100% of the time.
Two very important questions are posed in the Scriptures. "What is man...?" (Psalm 8:4.) "What is your life?" (James 4:14.) Man is the creation of God, but in a fallen and sinful state. One's life is referred to as "a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away." Here today. Gone tomorrow!
One day, as far as the world is concerned, you will be nothing more than an unknown name etched on a lonely gravestone--and one day the gravestone will vanish. Man thinks WAY too highly of himself, and not nearly enough about the Lord Jesus Christ. God did not create us to reject Him. If we are wise, we will believe God's word and receive Him by faith. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name" (John 1:12). God made salvation simple--
thankfully.
This Church Age in which we live is waxing old. The pieces of God's prophetic puzzle are quickly coming together. The intentional destruction of Western Civilization (based upon the Judeo-Christian ethic / the Old and New Testaments where they doctrinally apply) is taking place before our very eyes. It is sickening!
What you have read above is what is called Negative Truth--that which is shunned by many today. Rejecting Negative Truth is just as dangerous as rejecting Positive Truth. Both are necessary to maintain a balance in what is believed and how life is lived. "For our God is a consuming fire" (Hebrews 12:29) is just as true as "God is love" (1 John 4:16). Author George Orwell warned that, "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." We have been warned!
Our original intent was to keep this Christmas letter down to one page. (Failed again.) We will, however, succeed in completing this missive. So, with that said, please remember that Christmas is supposed to be all about the God-man, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour! LIFE (not religion) is what the Lord Jesus Christ is all about! The Lord said, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).
After you have a Merry Christmas, try to have a Happy New Year! 2024 A.D. will be an even wilder "ride" than 2023. Read and Believe God's Book to maintain that balance mentioned above. And--carry on! Don't lose hope! There WILL be an end to everything down here, so don't waste a second!
