I made a late afternoon run up into Door County yesterday, 5-24-26, to get some photos of the cherry blossoms. Unexpectedly, as the sun set it proceeded to get foggy very quickly. I did manage to get some photos when I arrived at the location I had in mind before sunset that look nice. The photos at sunset are kind of cool because of the moody look to them.

I was in Rockford, IL on 4-24-26 for a concert at Whiskeys Roadhouse featuring Major Moment. I had the privilege of photographing their set. I met this band last fall at another concert in the Chicago area. What a great time! Enjoy these photos!

I took a drive to Horicon National Wildlife Refuge this afternoon. Wouldn't you know it!! Just as I got there it started raining! I didn't let that deter me. I rolled the windows down on the car to get my shots. These are just a few quick edits. I have identified the species in each photo's caption.

And now for a play on words from Pau Harvey...And now for the rest of the photos...as promised. There is a bonus unidentified creature photo in this group. The floor is open for guesses. These photos were taken at Necedah National Refuge near Necedah, WI. Established in 1939 in central Wisconsin, the 44,000-acre Necedah National Wildlife Refuge serves as a critical breeding ground for migratory birds, particularly endangered whooping cranes. It features diverse habitats like wetlands, sedge meadows, and savannas, providing homes for wolves, eagles, and sandhill cranes, with a visitor center open year-round.

Good morning, all!! I made a trip out to Necedah, WI to see if I could find any eagles at the Petenwell Hydroelectric Dam. Unfortunately, I did not see but one eagle, at another location. I was caught off guard and wasn't able to get a shot of it. I present to you "The Curious Deer" in these photos at Necedah National Wildlife Refuge. I have photos of waterfowl and birds to post later.

I attended an event in Sturgeon Bay, WI last night for ship watching enthusiasts. After the event I went to Otumba Park in Sturgeon Bay to photograph the 1,004 foot long M/V James R. Barker docked at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding for winter layup. The Barker was built in 1976 by American Ship Building Company in Lorain, OH. Rumor was that she would be departing Sturgeon Bay this morning. Unfortunately, last minute last night, it is now rumored to be departing Monday. I had hoped to get photos of her departure this morning. Enjoy the images I captured last night. These photos were taken with my Sony a7C camera and Tamron 28-75mm G2 lens.

Here are my aurora photos from last night, 3-14-26. Each photo has its location noted in its caption. It was a long night but it was worth it! I haven't been out to chase those crazy green lights in the sky in quite some time.

These are photos from the Eight Second Ride show at Cowboy Mac's Country Club in Green Bay, WI on 11-22-25. I hadn't seen them since early September. It was a good time with a pretty good crowd on the eve of the Packers/Vikings game at Lambeau.
