As good as my camera and lens are, they do not accurately capture the amount of rain coming down in this storm cell. We are just past the 20MM on the main channel and normally you can easily see the water tower in Lake Ozark and the broadcast towers even further in the distance.

However, there is a giant "Wall of Water" just coming down around the 19MM. The cell is moving from the south the north and I am sitting on the deck, completely dry, yet it's raining so hard I can't see the boats in the water at the 19MM.

Michelle is in the parking lot at Dierbergs and, based on what I am seeing, it is raining at the rate of five to six inches an hour.

I guess Michelle and I are getting older. We had VIP seats for Lily Rose and Adam Doleac, so we were in the front row. We had several different people ask if we were his parents.

The lake was so cold and calm, the only movements you could see were the ripples from a small group of ducks who just landed and the mirrored reflections of the clouds above down onto the water.

Michelle was having baby withdrawals, so we went down to see Lyndsey and Ember Lou and I decided to take my camera to get some pictures.

These turned out better than I expected, mainly because I have never photographed a newborn. I hope these are something Ember can look back on in 50 years and remember me.

And of course, I also had to get a couple of photos of my two favorite models.

Eight years ago to the day, I was in Joplin as that community began to recover from a devastating tornado. That damage was unbelievable and I could feel the heartache the community was suffering, however that would not prepare me for what I saw and felt today.

Today, as I exited US Highway 54 as I do every morning, I could feel something was different. As I looked across the highway, I saw what remained of the new Missouri Special Olympics – Training for Life Campus.

This was not just another building that had been damaged by the tornado the night before. This was a building that I helped bring to life. I knew the people who worked in the building, some of whom are very dear friends.

As a photographer, it was hard for me to take some of the photographs I took this morning. However, I wanted to document what happened because I know in a few years, after all the pieces are put back together, those who are a part of this building will want to see how far they traveled to get back to where there were yesterday.

With all the devastation that I saw, one image gave me HOPE. This HOPE poster hangs in the TLC gymnasium and was one of the only items left untouched by the tornado.

Out of respect for those who are a part of this building, these are the only photographs I will be sharing on Facebook.

It was raining really hard, but the lightning was so bright it created enough light for camera to capture the large raindrops as they fell in front of the lens.
