Three in the world. One headed to Lake of the Ozarks.

OPC friend and fan Brian Dodge of Columbia, Tennessee is bringing something to LOTO that most performance-boat fans have probably never had the opportunity to see in person — his 2026 Simmons 27R Sig.

And when we say rare, we mean RARE.

Simmons isn't a mass-production boat builder cranking out hundreds of identical hulls.

Their world revolves around custom performance boats, high-end marine rigging and custom fabrication, with a philosophy centered around quality, attention to detail and doing things right.

That makes Brian's new 27R Sig even more interesting.

We've been featuring plenty of old-school offshore iron lately — Cigarette Top Guns, Flat Decks, Café Racers and other boats that helped create the performance-boating lifestyle we know today.

Brian is bringing us something from the other end of the spectrum.

Brand new.
Extremely limited.
Custom built.
And currently one of only three on the planet.

That's pretty damn cool.

Simmons has built its reputation around performance-oriented boats with custom rigging and fabrication, and their builds can incorporate everything from Mercury Racing power and sophisticated marine electronics to custom seating, SeaDek, lighting and highly detailed rigging.

LOTO is one of those places where you can walk down a dock and see a beautifully preserved 40-year-old offshore legend tied up beside something that represents the newest generation of performance boating.

Our fans clearly have a thing for Ci******es — and this Cig screams America.

Meet OPC friend and fan Joe Tormey of New Lenox, Illinois, and his 2000 Cigarette 38 Top Gun, wearing a head-turning red, white and blue patriotic paint scheme that looks right at home flying across Lake of the Ozarks.

This isn't a boat that quietly slips into the dock.

It looks fast sitting still — and the hardware under the hatch makes sure it doesn't disappoint.

Joe's Top Gun is powered by twin Mercury 509s topped with massive 8-71 blowers, putting the power to the water through Mercury XR drives.

Joe makes the trip from Illinois to enjoy Lake of the Ozarks, and when we asked what he likes most about LOTO, he summed up one of the reasons so many boaters keep coming back:

Some boats never go out of style. A classic Cigarette is one of them.

Meet Ozark Powerboat Club friend and fan Josh Jarvis of Potosi, Missouri, and his 1982 Cigarette 38 Flat Deck — a piece of old-school offshore performance boating powered by twin 600HP inboards.

Long before today's massive touchscreens, digital switching and computer-controlled everything, boats like the Cigarette 38 Flat Deck helped define what a true offshore performance boat was supposed to look and feel like.

And more than four decades later, Josh's Cigarette still has the attitude.

There's something different about seeing one of these boats running across Lake of the Ozarks. The long deck, unmistakable profile and sound of big horsepower coming from behind you takes you back to an era when performance boating was raw, loud and built around going fast.

But when we asked Josh what he loves most about spending time at LOTO, his answer wasn't about horsepower, speed or even the boat.

“I love meeting all the people.”

And we couldn't agree more.

That's one of the things that makes Lake of the Ozarks and the performance-boating community special. The boats might be what first gets everyone's attention, but it's the people you meet at the docks, events, restaurants, coves and out on the water that turn boating into a lifestyle.

A guy from Potosi with a 1982 Cigarette can pull into a dock next to someone with a brand-new performance boat, and within a few minutes they're talking horsepower, swapping stories and making plans to run the lake together.

That's what OPC is all about.

Josh, thanks for being an OPC friend and fan and for keeping an incredible piece of Cigarette history where it belongs — out on the water and being enjoyed.
