Trailer Fire at Adventure Bound Campground Extinguished by Multiple Cape Departments | June 3, 2026

Truro, MA – Yesterday on June 3rd at approximately 5:30 PM, the Truro Fire Department received multiple reports of a fire at Adventure Bound Campground.

Truro Engine 1 and Tanker 1 arrived on scene to find a trailer fully involved in flames. Firefighters quickly initiated an aggressive attack on the fire and were assisted by Provincetown Ladder 1 and Wellfleet Tanker 1.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control and prevent further spread. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Two Pickup Trucks Involved in Rollover Crash at Busy Dennisport Intersection | June 1, 2026

Dennis, MA - Just after 4:00 PM, Dennis Police and Dennis Fire Department responded to the intersection of Route 28 and Sea Street in Dennisport for a reported two-vehicle rollover crash.

According to witnesses, a collision between two pickup trucks caused one of the vehicles to roll over before ultimately righting itself and coming to rest on all four wheels. Several people in the area reported hearing a loud bang followed by vehicle horns sounding continuously before discovering the crash scene.

Emergency crews arrived to find both pickup trucks with significant damage. At this time, the extent of any injuries has not been released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Dennis Police Department.

Provincetown, MA - As severe weather moved across Cape Cod on Saturday, crews from U.S. Coast Guard Station Provincetown responded to a vessel in distress carrying a couple and their dog.

The Coast Guard was joined by the Provincetown Harbormaster and TowBoatU.S., who worked together to assist the occupants and safely tow the vessel back to the pier.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, all occupants, including the dog, were brought safely ashore without reported injuries.

Bus Crashes Into Tree After Driver Suffers Medical Emergency in Osterville | May 28, 2026

Osterville, MA - At approximately 1:00pm, the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills Fire Department responded to a reported single-vehicle crash involving a bus that struck a tree with multiple patients onboard.

Upon arrival, crews determined the bus driver had suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash, prompting the declaration of a Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident (MCI). The bus sustained moderate damage and no other vehicles were involved.

The bus was carrying nine individuals, including the driver. All occupants were evaluated at the scene. Five patients were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries, while four others refused treatment and transport.

An additional bus was requested to transport the remaining passengers from the scene. Mutual aid ambulances from Cotuit, Barnstable, and Hyannis assisted under the MCI response.

The crash remains under investigation by the Barnstable Police Department.

Harwich, MA – Just before 9 PM, Harwich Police and Fire responded to the area of Pleasant Lake Ave and Harwood Ave for a serious two-car motor vehicle crash with reported entrapment.

Upon arrival, crews located one victim heavily trapped inside a vehicle, requiring the use of multiple sets of hydraulic extrication tools to free them.

One patient was transported to Cape Cod Hospital in unknown condition. The second victim, who had been trapped, was airlifted by Boston MedFlight to Mass General Hospital with severe injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Cape Cod Regional Crash Reconstruction Team.

Fireworks Potentially Ignite Wind-Driven Brush Fire in Yarmouth | May 1, 2026

Yarmouth, MA - Just after 5:00 PM, Yarmouth Fire responded to Greenland Circle in the area of the power lines for reports of an active brush fire being rapidly pushed by wind conditions.

Upon arrival, engine companies encountered difficult access to the fire and requested two brush trucks to better navigate the terrain along the power line trail.

Crews were met with an approximately 200-foot by 75-foot area of active fire. Firefighters deployed hose lines and utilized hand tools to knock down the bulk of the flames. Following initial extinguishment, crews remained on scene for roughly 45 minutes conducting extensive overhaul operations, wetting down hot spots and raking through debris to prevent rekindling.

While working the scene, firefighters began investigating the cause of the fire. Two witnesses walking their dog reported seeing two individuals sitting near the base of a power pole with fireworks. According to the witnesses, the individuals began lighting the fireworks shortly before smoke was observed coming from the same area.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. No injuries were reported.

Bourne/Sandwich, MA – The Massachusetts National Guard’s Natural Resource Program, with major support from MassWildlife and the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), is planning to conduct a prescribed burn at Camp Edwards on Joint Base Cape Cod on Wednesday, April 29th, weather conditions permitting.

The controlled burn is part of an ongoing land management strategy aimed at maintaining and restoring ecological grasslands, reducing hazardous wildland fuels, and providing critical hands-on training for wildland firefighters.

Officials say the operation will be closely monitored, with trained personnel on site to ensure safety and containment throughout the process. Residents in surrounding areas may notice smoke during the burn, but there is no threat to the public.

19-Year-Old Hyannis Man Arrested on Child Po*******hy Charges | April 24, 2026

Hyannis, MA - Barnstable Police Detectives, with assistance from the United States Secret Service New England Cyber Fraud Task Force, executed a search warrant at a residence in Hyannis on April 23rd.

As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Joao Nascimento of Hyannis was arrested and charged with possession and dissemination of child po*******hy. The case originated from a CyberTip received by the Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which was assigned to a Barnstable Police task force officer.

Investigators determined that Nascimento’s cellphone contained child po*******hy images, along with evidence tied to an online profile allegedly used to distribute the material.

Nascimento was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Barnstable Police Department, where he was booked on the following charges:

* Possession of Child Po*******hy
* Distribution of Child Nudity Material

He was arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Friday, April 24th, 2026, and held on $1,000 cash bail after prosecutors requested $5,000. Nascimento is scheduled to return to court for a pre-trial hearing on May 13th, 2026. The case is being prosecuted by the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office.
