Pickup truck crashes into West Yarmouth residence | August 27, 2026

West Yarmouth, MA – Yarmouth Police and Fire responded Thursday afternoon to a reported motor vehicle crash involving a pickup truck that struck a residence near the intersection of Amos Road and West Yarmouth Road.

Arriving first responders located the pickup truck partially inside the residence, causing substantial damage to the home.

Yarmouth Fire personnel worked at the scene while the Yarmouth Building Inspector responded to assess the structural integrity and safety of the residence following the crash.

The operator of the pickup truck was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with minor injuries. No one was inside the residence at the time of the crash, and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Yarmouth Police Department.

Two Arrested Following Joint Narcotics Investigation

Mashpee, MA – Two men were arrested following a months-long joint investigation by the Falmouth Police Department and Cape Cod DEA Task Force into narcotics distribution on Cape Cod.

On August 19, investigators located 22-year-old Elias Almeida of Dorchester at a Wampanoag Drive residence in Mashpee and took him into custody without incident. Police say approximately 65 grams of a white, rock-like substance was found on Almeida and later produced a presumptive positive test for co***ne.

Almeida was booked on three outstanding arrest warrants and additionally charged with Trafficking in Co***ne, More Than 36 Grams but Less Than 100 Grams. He was held on $10,000 bail.

Police say a second suspect, identified as 20-year-old Kendrell Gilbert of Brockton, fled the scene in a vehicle during Almeida’s arrest, allegedly driving directly toward officers and nearly striking them.

A search was launched involving the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, Falmouth Police Drone Unit and K9 units. The suspect vehicle was later located abandoned nearby.

Shortly afterward, a Falmouth Police officer stopped an Uber traveling in the area and allegedly found Gilbert slouched down in the rear passenger seat.

Gilbert was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Motor Vehicle), Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Police, Resisting Arrest, Disturbing the Peace and Disorderly Conduct. He was held on $5,000 bail.

Falmouth Police K9 Kepo assisted with a search for narcotics, while K9 Renata assisted officers searching for fi****ms that may have been discarded during the incident.

The operation also included assistance from Mashpee Police, Yarmouth Police, Massachusetts State Police and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office.

Both men were transported to the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

BREAKING: Large Scale Water Search is underway for a missing swimmer off Provincetown Beach

Provincetown, MA – A large-scale water rescue and search operation is underway off Provincetown after multiple swimmers reportedly became caught in a strong rip current Friday afternoon.

Initial reports indicate three swimmers were in distress. Two have reportedly been brought aboard a rescue boat, while an approximately 80-year-old woman remains missing in the water.

The U.S. Coast Guard is on scene and has begun a grid search, with a helicopter reportedly being launched to assist in the operation. The Barnstable County Dive Team has also been activated, with personnel staging at Herring Cove Beach.

Provincetown command has requested swimmers remain out of the water as crews continue searching amid rough water conditions and a strong rip current.

This is an active and developing incident. Information is preliminary and subject to change. Signal News Network will provide updates as additional information becomes available.

Two injured in plane crash at Chatham Airport | August 14, 2026

Chatham, MA – Two people were transported to the hospital Friday morning after a small plane crashed at Chatham Municipal Airport.

Chatham Fire Rescue responded to the airport at approximately 10:30 a.m. for a reported plane crash, prompting a full department recall. Upon arrival, firefighters located a 17-foot Zenith aircraft upright on the runway with significant damage to the underside of the plane and its propeller.

Both occupants were able to self-extricate from the aircraft and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported by Chatham Fire Rescue to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment.

Firefighters secured the aircraft’s fuel and deployed containment pools and absorbent material to control leaking fuel. No other aircraft or civilians were involved, and officials reported no additional hazards at the scene.

The Chatham Police Department and Chatham Airport staff assisted at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the FAA and Massachusetts Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division.

Diver Found Deceased After Fatal Diving Accident Off Dennis | August 12, 2026

Dennis, MA - A 72-year-old male diver was found deceased Wednesday evening after a large search was launched off the coast of Dennis when the diver failed to resurface at a designated time.

The Dennis Fire Department and Barnstable County Dive Team were called to Sesuit Harbor around 5:00 p.m. Dive team members assembled in the harbor parking lot and established a command post while fire department and harbormaster boats from surrounding communities responded to the diver’s last known position. The U.S. Coast Guard also provided overhead support during the search operation.

A short time later, a nearby vessel was heard contacting the U.S. Coast Guard on emergency Channel 16, reporting that they had located the diver face down in the water approximately two nautical miles north-northwest of the entrance to Sesuit Harbor. The diver’s body was recovered around 5:30 p.m.

The diver was brought back to the dock aboard a rescue boat at approximately 5:45 p.m., where Massachusetts State Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner took control of the scene. Upon arrival at the dock, the diver was pronounced deceased.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. No additional information has been released, and the identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time.

Two Arrested After Multi-Person Fight at West Yarmouth Water Park, Police Officer Assaulted | August 12, 2026

Yarmouth, MA - Two women were arrested Wednesday evening following a large altercation at Wicked Waves Water Park that reportedly spilled from the pool area into the parking lot and resulted in a Yarmouth Police officer being assaulted.

Yarmouth Police responded to the water park shortly after 5:30 p.m. on August 12 after receiving a 911 call reporting a fight involving multiple people.

Police said the incident began in a pool area when one patron allegedly began punching other people. Water park security was able to break up the initial altercation and began es**rting the individual from the property. During the es**rt, another patron allegedly escalated the situation, reigniting the confrontation and causing it to continue into the parking lot.

During the incident, police said one of the individuals involved allegedly spit blood into the face of a water park security supervisor.

Responding officers attempted to bring the situation under control and investigate what had occurred when one of the individuals allegedly became physically aggressive and assaulted an officer. Additional Yarmouth Police units responded and were able to de-escalate the situation and restore order.

Police arrested Megan Medeiros, 33, and Sara Medeiros, 38, both of Falmouth.

Megan Medeiros was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.

Sara Medeiros was charged with two counts of Assault and Battery and Assault and Battery on a Police Officer.

Both women were transported to the Yarmouth Police Department for booking and were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Barnstable District Court.

Stringer: On Scene | Episode 2 – Dennis MedFlight: Toddler Airlifted After Dog Attack

Welcome back to Stringer: On Scene, a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like covering breaking news as an independent stringer. This series puts you in the passenger seat through my body camera, showing the real process behind bringing accurate, timely news to the public.

In Episode 2, you’ll respond with me to a heartbreaking call in Dennis, Massachusetts, where a 1-year-old girl suffered severe facial injuries after a dog attack. Due to the extent of her injuries, paramedics requested Boston MedFlight, which landed at Ezra H. Baker Innovation School before transporting the child to an off-Cape pediatric trauma center for specialized care.

This video is presented from my point of view as I document the response, coordinate coverage, and work to provide the community with verified information while always respecting those involved.

This video contains emergency response activity but does not include graphic images of the patient. The focus is on the professionalism, coordination, and dedication of the first responders who answered the call.

Dennis Toddler Airlifted After Serious Dog Bite Injury Near West Dennis Beach | July 24, 2026

Dennis, MA – A 1-year-old girl was airlifted to an off-Cape pediatric trauma center Friday evening after suffering serious injuries in a dog bite incident.

Dennis Police and Fire Department personnel responded to a residence near West Dennis Beach just before 6:30 p.m. for a reported dog bite. Upon arrival, first responders located the young child with injuries to her face and head.

Due to the severity of her injuries, MedFlight was requested. The child was transported from the scene by ambulance to a nearby landing zone before being flown by helicopter to an off-Cape pediatric trauma center for specialized treatment.

Elderly Man Dies Following Early Morning House Fire in Falmouth; Investigation Underway | July 24, 2026

Falmouth, MA - An older adult is dead following an early morning house fire on Red Brook Road, according to the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services.

Falmouth firefighters responded to 15 Red Brook Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. Friday after a neighbor called 911 to report a fire. When crews arrived, they encountered heavy fire coming from the rear of the home and heavy smoke pushing from the front entrance.

With assistance from the Falmouth Police Department, firefighters removed one occupant from the home and immediately began lifesaving efforts. Despite those efforts, the victim, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Firefighters quickly brought the bulk of the fire under control, but officials said the single-family home is considered a total loss.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation by the Falmouth Fire Department, Falmouth Police Department, Massachusetts State Police fire investigators assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal, and Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office.
