Axo Ferrell Photography My name is Axo (named after my love of axolotls), and I'm an environmental scientist in Florida with a passion for conservation.

I upgraded from using my phone for photos to a real camera, so I could better capture the wildlife and habitats I'm studying.

This is a rare (in Florida) melanistic Eastern Gray Squirrel! Apparently fewer than 1% of the squirrel population is black!

My friend showed me how to get squirrels to come up really close to you: you stand still, aim towards the squirrel, and move your hand and arm up and down like a dolphin swimming. It mimics the movement of their tails and they come closer to check it out.

✨Watermark/Logo Update✨

Originally, I used a logo I made with stock Canva elements, but I wanted something more custom. So I opened up Procreate and drew my own! I drew my Canon EOS R10 with axolotl gills! This is my first time really using Procreate, so it’s not perfect, but I guess nothing really is. I’m currently working on updating my website and everything to match the changes!
