I’ve been sitting with this one for a while.
We’re 424 followers from 20,000. I don’t take that lightly. Every one of those is a person who chose to keep watching what I make, and some of you have been here a long time.
Which is why this giveaway is what it is.

I started shooting commencement in 2013. Those first grads had no reason to trust me with something they’d only get to do once, and they did it anyway. They let me practice on the most important day of their lives. Everything I’ve built since traces back to those sessions, and I’ve never stopped being grateful for it.

So this is me handing that forward.

These images were shot exactly 1 minute apart with the same settings. The only difference? A BACKGROUND light.

Some clients prefer a darker, moodier feel. Others want a brighter, cleaner background. The goal isn’t to GUESS how to get there, it’s about being intentional with your lighting.
