Tonight I remembered a decade ago telling my friend that I wanted to begin drawing on my photos.
Somehow it never happened until this past year and then again two weeks ago when I on a whim entered an open call called “Full Circle” to celebrate Orlando’s 12th anniversary.
As I type this out, I get a bit emotional because I realize it wasn’t just for Space Station that things came full circle. It was for me too.
Thank you to the space station for all you do in this city and celebrating art. Thanks for saying yes to my first photographic drawing and most importantly, thank you to for asking me tons of questions about the work and then telling me it would look great in your living room.
It’s means the world to have support and be a working artist.
Also, I got to set a photo studio up at the entrance of the show and greet every single person that walked in to the show across two days. How we welcome people into a space can make or break it.
And I think together with each smile, we made it. So thank you to each and everyone of you that shared a moment with me whether it was a “hi”, a smile, or sitting for a photo.
People are what make the world go round.
Also, if you have a ridiculous idea, go for it. Every “silly” idea I’ve ever had has worked out better than I could have ever imagined.
P.s. if you sat for a photo, they will be emailed out this next week.
Love you.
