Disney World without your phone glued to your hand: 6 dad tips.

A parent on Reddit said they came home from Disney feeling like they'd finished a week-long logistics project instead of a vacation. I get it. Dad logic: do the logistics before the gates, then put the phone away.

Our plan:
1. Book Lightning Lane and dining at home, in the My Disney Experience app.
2. Pick 3 anchor times, not a minute by minute plan.
3. One phone parent, one present parent. Switch halfway.
4. Screenshot your plans and pack a portable charger.
5. Mute non Disney notifications.
6. Skip one thing on purpose.

Magic Kingdom rides, ranked by a dad.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in B. It's fun, but it's short, and I'm not doing a 70 minute line or paying for a Single Pass for it. Tomorrowland Speedway in Skip. Long line, hot sun, and my kid hits the rail the whole lap.

Haunted Mansion or Pirates: which one is really S tier? Tell me below.

Disney World hotels, ranked by a dad who pays for the room.

Swan & Dolphin in B will start a fight. It's on Disney property, but it's Marriott-run, you can't book it with DVC points, and parking is $40 a day. Does it even count as a Disney hotel?

"Ohana means family." At Disney World with kids, that means the day fits the youngest and the oldest in the group.

Six tips from our trips: plan around naps and snacks, let everyone pick one must-do, use Rider Switch, take a rest day mid-trip, ask the grandparents what they want to see, and save one thing just for Dad.

Disney Jollywood Nights 2026 dates are out, and for the first time it runs into January.

Select nights Nov 7 to Jan 5 at Hollywood Studios. Separate ticket, limited capacity, $169 to $199 plus tax depending on the night. Kids 3 to 9, Annual Passholders and DVC Members save $10.

Dad logic: if your kids melt by 9, pick an early date and leave when they do. You still got the good part.

Pass or Smash, dad value edition: the Mickey pretzel.

$8.49, and it held that price on Oct 6 when popcorn, fountain drinks and chicken strips all went up. It splits four ways, it's an easy sell to kids, and you can eat it walking.

What happens if a child gets lost at Disney World? Here's what Cast Members do, and what you do first.

Our 30-second plan: snap a photo of each kid every morning, show them a Cast Member name tag, and put your phone number on them with a temporary tattoo or wristband. If you get separated, tell the nearest Cast Member right away. In the four theme parks, Cast Members take separated kids to the Baby Care Center, and Guest Relations helps reunite separated guests.

Frozen b**r at EPCOT? 🎥 by

The Kirin Frozen from Kabuki Cafe in the Japan pavilion is a Kirin draft topped with frozen foam. It's b**r-forward, not sweet, and the foam keeps it cold in the Florida heat.

A good stop for the grown-ups on a World Showcase lap. Would you try it?
