It’s Mother’s Day week, and as I get ready to photograph so many sweet mamas with their babies this weekend, I can’t help but reflect.
I feel so lucky to witness motherhood in so many seasons: growing a baby, holding one on your hip during a session, little arms wrapped tight around your neck… and then there’s this.
The quiet moment when mom zips up the back of the dress.
The deep breath before walking down the aisle.
The pride, the love, the weight of it all sitting right there in her eyes.
I try to capture this special moment at every wedding I can because the mother of the bride so often moves through the day taking care of everyone else, many times having planned the whole day alongside her daughter, without much recognition on the day of.
But this weekend, Kylee chose something different.
She dedicated her bouquet to her mom, pausing the day in front of everyone to honor her, to thank her, to say I see you.
Of course, as you can see ➡️ this meant the world to her mama.
