Today is our wedding anniversary and this is the latest non-selfie of us that we have. ⁠

But you know what, that is a problem that is easily remedied, especially when your spouse is on board and doesn't have to be bribed to get in front of the camera. (Can I get an AMEN ladies?!) 😅⁠

—Have you had some water today? Grab a glass. And then another.⁠
—Have you run out of anything this week? Toothpaste? Printer paper? Patience? Take stock before you tackle the rest of your week.⁠
—Something tells me there’s a text message or an email you’re avoiding. I get it. But you’ll feel better once you reply and get it over with! ⁠
—Do your sheets need a little TLC? What about your pillowcases? Wash them with some of those fragrance beads and feel like a million bucks when you sleep on them tonight.⁠
—If you’re feeling tired, rest ❤️⁠
—Moisturize! ⁠
—Have you had breakfast yet? Should I even ask? ⁠

You can count on me to keep it real around here, so I’ll come right out and say it: ⁠

My morning routine is lightyears away from 6 am yoga, green juice, meditation, and journaling. If I could sum up a few words to describe my average morning, “messy” would top the list. Let me take you through the agenda so you can see for yourself: ⁠
⁠
7:30 AM - Wake up ☀️⁠
7:45 AM - Finally get out of bed, let Emmett out to potty, grab my coffee and breakfast ☕⁠
8:00 AM - Head upstairs in my pj's to start working my day job ⁠
9:00 AM - Give Emmett his morning meds, wash my face, smooth my hair, and put on a fresh top for my first video call of the day⁠
10:00 AM - Grab a second cup of coffee ☕⁠
11:30 AM - Go on my lunch break, run around in the backyard with Emmett and finally shower for the first time in the day 😅⁠

What’s more comforting than that? ⁠

I used to think people who said “I don't know” were trying to avoid responsibility. ⁠
⁠
(Yikes. Getting vulnerable today.)⁠
⁠
It made me question their abilities.⁠
⁠
But then it hit me–nobody knows what they're doing one hundred percent. ⁠
⁠
If we all admitted that, we'd create a space where it's okay to not have everything figured out- where it's okay to admit when you're struggling-where people could confidently say “Hey, I don’t know either.” ⁠
⁠
If we just acknowledge the truth - that no one really knows what they're doing - there's so much empathy, understanding, and love to be shared, don’t you think?⁠

Surprise! I turned 30 last month and really didn't tell anyone. 😅🎂⁠

(Family and FB friends knew, but otherwise, I left ya'll in the dark.)⁠
⁠
I took that day off of work, intending to go out and take photos to celebrate me, this new decade of life, and document what I looked like at 30 for my grandkids to one day look at and say, "Whoa, grandma, you used to look so young!" 🤣 ⁠
⁠
But the photoshoot didn't happen. Instead, I relaxed. I gave myself a break from having to fill every second of time with something productive. I slept in. I read a book outside while I worked on my tan and ate wayyy too much sushi.⁠
⁠
And I stand by that decision. Society moves at a mile a minute, and changing that culture to slow down to safe speeds starts with ourselves and our own intentional decisions to rest, to make time of our interests, and have a little fun.⁠
⁠
Yesterday, I caught up on that birthday photo shoot. So here's 30 and a new decade full of rest AND adventures! 🎉🎉⁠
