Merry Christmas! This Christmas morning brought an amazing sunrise to Tahoe with some scattered fog above the lake and some spectacular clouds. I barely made it up above Incline this morning in time for the sunrise, but am so happy I did! Wishing you all a great holiday!

Last night's thunderstorm over Ensign Peak just above Downtown was incredible! I was able to capture over 30 frames of individual bolts and combine them into this image. Enjoy!

An iconic view towards Palisades Tahoe and beyond from the east shore of Tahoe. Taken from an amazing sunrise a few days back. It's amazing how much you can see when you zoom way in. Enjoy! If you want an uninterrupted view, check out the second image.

This morning's spectacular sunrise (1/2/24) before the incoming storm. After getting up way too early, I intended to go for a morning hike to catch the sunrise. But with winds blowing in the high elevation, I didn't feel like being blown around for a couple hours. I started to drive around the lake, poking my head out the window, seeing how the clouds evolved as the sun lit the horizon. As the clouds rapidly approached from the west, I knew that the east shore would light up. I booked it for this classic spot and lucked out! Thanks for taking a look!

“Incline Inversion”
To round up the year end, here’s an image I captured several days ago atop Incline Peak. After an unsuccessful attempt at capturing sunrise the previous morning, I was rewarded with amazing conditions. With an intense inversion formed over Lake Tahoe, clouds engulfed the basin, making only the highest peaks breach the clouds. After being treated to some amazing alpenglow (other images to come soon!), the sun rose above the distant clouds to light the freshly snow-capped peaks. This one was one for the books for me! Enjoy!

I’m a sucker for reflections and afternoon light, especially with some fall color and snow-capped peaks. This image is from last year in Colorado. Seems like the San Juan’s put on quite the show this fall, so thought I’d try to get my slice of the pie. I have lots of images from Colorado from the past couple years, so expect to see some more soon enough. Or maybe I’ll just drop off and not post for another two years again 😬

Endless array of colors in Utah this Fall. Photographers and lead peepers have been treated to some amazing conditions this fall. With snow capped peaks, moody clouds, and a vibrant spectrum of every color imaginable, it’s been a dream.

Here is something a little different from myself. I tried to take advantage of the moody conditions with my telephoto lens that I rarely use. This vertical panorama was shot in the Wasatch back after a night of snowfall caking Mount Timpanogos above. I have so many images I want to share from these past several days and thought I would start with something a little more moody. Hope you enjoy!

This small lake exploded with color on this morning. A quick overnight backpacking mission brought me to this gorgeous spot that exploded with color after a historic snowpack melt. I had seen photos of this lake with the water much lower, but after the winter of 22-23, I knew it would look quite different. I was blown away with the amount of wildflowers at the foot of the lake upon arrival the previous evening.

After being barraged with mosquitoes the night before, I was hoping they would rise a bit later on this morning. I was horribly mistaken. The onslaught began well before sunrise, but with the promise of color in the clouds, reflections in the lake, and alpenglow on the ridges above, I couldn't complain much. The color came as quick as it went, and so did the reflections, making for a quick morning of shooting. As the sun continued to rise, the mosquitoes did as well. I quickly packed up and headed back home after a gorgeous morning.

If you want to see more of my photos from the past couple years that I haven’t shared, head on over to my website! I’ve made a big overhaul to the site and am super excited to share it with you!

An Image I shot in July of an amazing sunset in the Uinta Mountains. After a cloudy day, we thought that sunset might not blow up, but we headed into the alpine anyway. As we drove over a summit in one of the only roads that goes through the mountains, the skies began to clear. We quickly pulled off at a nearby lake, swatted away the flies, and enjoyed the light show. Enjoy!

An eventful night under the stars. Standing under these mysterious giants under the stars made for some pretty spooky conditions. But after settling down, finding a composition, and watching the stars slowly drift through the sky, the formations felt welcoming. Here is the result from a great night in the Sierra!

If you're interested in a print of this image, let me know! I'd love to work with you to get some artwork on your wall 😁
