LC Taylor Photography

LC Taylor Photography This is a place to showcase my photos, as I journey to become a better photographer. I love where my camera takes me and the people I meet along the way.

I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I like taking them. Recently retired, I decided to get a camera and join a camera club to have a hobby. I liked to take pictures as a young girl, but when I got married and had children and also worked full time, my camera was a quick point and shoot, with not much thinking involved. Being involved with photography allows me to meet new people with the same interests, and also travel to places I might not have gone.

It’s been a busy summer and I haven’t been taking many pictures. A quick trip across Mt Hood this weekend showed the glorious golds, oranges and reds of the vine maples. The light on Friday was great, but I had forgotten to put my camera in my car! On the way home Saturday, it was raining and the light wasn’t so great. I stopped and took this cell phone image and was happy with it.

Milky Way at Anthony Lakes with Gunsight Mountain.
I went on a photographers campout with Gary Randall and friends. I learned a couple of things. One, expose to the right at night. Two, if you are doing a blue hour shot to blend into your final shot, be sure you remember you are there for the sky, and not the foreground. I made that mistake, so no blending here. Car lights on the left and campers lights on the right. Heavenly lights all above.

Golden hour on April 5, the clouds were not what we were expecting, but it was beautiful none the less. It gives us an excuse to try again.

I am getting a little better with my bird photography. I used my Canon 6D with my 100-400 lens to take these. Shutter set to 3200, variable f stops and auto ISO most of the time. Descriptions under each picture.
