Pet Portraits NW

Pet Portraits NW Northwest portrait artist specializing in pets, horses & the people who love them. It’s such a special gift from my clients to be able to do what I love!

A portrait is so much more than just an image. I believe a portrait is a precious gift where we are able to look back at joyful memories and treasured moments. When I am not behind a camera, I can be found on my little farm caring for my greyhounds, chickens, or horses.

I’m completely obsessed with this little slice of heaven. Oregon really never disappoints.

I’ll always love the beach, but there’s something incredibly beautiful about the quiet water, soft light, and wild beauty of the bay. It makes a gorgeous setting for equestrian portraits.

I have one spot left for Oct 1st -3rd. Message me if you are interested in making some beautiful art of your horse.

During a week of Beach Equestrian Sessions, I managed to sneak away to the bay for a little time with my own horse. Annabelle was an absolute dream, standing at liberty and giving me some of my favorite portraits of her yet.

If you’ve been dreaming of portraits with your horse along the coast, don't wait until next year. Message me to reserve one of the remaining sessions.

Why hire an equestrian photographer?

Because photographing a horse is about a lot more than getting the horse to look pretty.

I'm an equestrian myself. I ride endurance, spend every day with my own horse, and understand the patience, communication, and trust that goes into the relationship between horse and rider.

I know when to ask for something and when to simply wait.

I know how to work around a horse's comfort level. I know how to keep the horse and rider safe.

Most importantly, I understand that your horse isn't just an animal you own.

They're your teammate, your adventure partner, your teacher, and often one of the most important relationships in your life.

That's what I want your portraits to capture.

Not just what your horse looks like.
But your horse means to you.

❤️Love❤️

I've always wanted to photograph a Galgo. 🥰😍 My wish came true while creating the artwork for Greyhound Pet Adoption Northwest's 2027 calendar.

The Galgo or Spanish Greyhound: Despite the name “greyhound,” the Spanish galgo is not closely related to the English or Irish Greyhound; the two breeds developed along separate lineages. In earlier centuries, galgos were highly prized, yet today many are treated as disposable hunting tools. - Galgos Del Sol

Check out the amazing rescue Galgo Del Sol for more information about the breed and the struggles they face in Spain. https://galgosdelsol.org

Three things I do to help my horse when the air quality is unhealthy from wildfire smoke:

No exercise. She just gets to be a horse.

Wet hay. I soak her hay to help reduce dust and add a little extra hydration.

Fresh, clean water. I make sure she always has plenty of clean water available.

Bonus tip: If I'm worried she isn't drinking enough, I'll make her a "horse soup" by mixing about 2 gallons of water with a handful of grain and a little salt. She thinks it's a treat, and I know she's getting some extra hydration.
