Ranunculus are my favorite wild children of the flower world. Their stems do whatever they please, twisting and turning at improbable angles. This bunch of red & orange blooms was no exception, marching very much so to their own beat.

This photograph would feel instantly at home in a kitchen, dining room, or breakfast room, where its fresh, market-gathered quality brings the feeling of flowers just brought in from a garden.

It’s been one of those days. Everything feels off.

Instead of doing what I wanted (crawl under a blanket & block out everything), I made myself go outside & look for some beauty.

Everything is between blooms so I had to really look. And then, I found this calla lily.

I love the swooping lines and rich colors. Isn’t it pretty?
