Yesterday, America turned 250. Today, the real work begins — because a birthday is not a birthright.
"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" were not handed down. They were bought with blood, sweat, tears, and lives that never saw the nation they built. Every right we exercised yesterday was purchased by someone who didn't get to celebrate at all.
We inherited truths our forefathers called "self-evident." But self-evident never meant self-sustaining. It meant a debt, passed hand to hand, generation to generation.
