Scam calls are on the rise.

Calls claiming to be from:

Microsoft
Microsoft Tech Support
Amazon
Amazon Text Message (won a contest)
PayPal
IRS
Car Warranty
Edison
Social Security
Discover
COVID-19 Surveys
Streaming TV service scam

They Claim you are getting a refund, claim your pc is infected with a virus, claim that fraudulent activity was detected from your account or claim you owe taxes and if u fail to pay, a warrant will be issued for your arrest.

99.9% of these scams originate in India so the first give-a-way is that they have a heavy accent.

Stay educated and share you knowledge with family and the elderly.

EDD Unemployment Benefits

If you’re like thousands that have tried to call your EDD office only to get a recording that they are receiving more calls then they can handle, it’s a reminder of the sign of the new times.

Besides getting the new approved monies, one common issue is a notice while logged in is that you have to re-qualify for your benefits. This has led to much confusion for people.

Word of advice.... don’t complete the re-qualification application as it will close your existing claim and start a new one.

As painful as it is, continue to call regardless the recording you get saying all lines are beyond full. Keep calling until you get into the queue. The queue is about 30-40 minutes- it’s very painful but well worth it to get this glitch resolved.

Once you explain to them that you aré receiving this message to re-apply, they will promptly fix it and you can re-certify your weeks. In most cases, it will include the $300 after certifying.

If you have run out of money in your account, they say the Government is still working out the bugs to extend the unemployment benefits. They say to call back weekly to get an update.

It’s a lot of work but well worth it once you get through and get the issues resolved.
