"You have to start somewhere"
It's the phrase I hear everytime I talk about my aspirations. So here is my starting line, with nothing to show, except old shoots from 5+ years ago, not even in my field. I plan to blog through as much of my journey as possible but as every mother knows, I might be lying to myself, but I'm going to try.
For those of you who don't know me, I am Crystal, a 27 year old stay at home mother of two. I am blessed to be able to stay home due to IHSS paying me to be a caregiver for my three year old with moderate to severe quad spastic CP.
I have been doing freelance photography off and on since I was 15. But always seemed to get lost in where I fit into the big picture. Then my son had his very first school picture day, and after many tears cried over a very unsuccessful day, due to a photographer with no compassion or patience, it clicked. All my love i have for this community that I myself belong to, all the patience I've learned by having a special needs kid can be channelled into providing other moms with those pictures that show our kids for the amazing miracles that they are.
So here I am, going out on a limb, to start a journey, and I hope to meet you all and show you all I have to offer.
