An absolute pleasure capturing Project Yellow Brick with located in Atkinson historic district of Detroit. We accomplished a lot with this project. In addition to interiors, we did 2 sets of brand photo shoots and filmed a walkthrough showcase video for YouTube.

When photographing a space, the choice of angles play a huge role in conveying the story of the space.

- Shooting from another room shows how the space connects with others.

- Shooting Straight On Allows the Eye to Absorb the details of the design.

- Shooting from Corner angles can help show the size of the space (but we want to avoid shooting too wide from a corner).

- Shooting from the wrong angle can add in too many unnecessary details that can distract eye looking on.

- Vignettes and Detail Shots highlight the intimate moments of the space.

Just to name a few things.
It’s good to think ahead what feeling you’re trying to convey with the photos and what distractions you want to avoid. This will impact the decision on angles amongst other things when preparing for a shoot.

Last summer I moved to and in February I opened a Headshot Studio inside of Postal Plus in Adrian. Moving to a new area, even though it’s in the same state, feels kind of like starting over. I didn’t know anyone moving out here. My goal with this modest studio, is to not only make great portraits of people but to also be a point of connection as I get to know the professionals in this area.

My goal when working with designers and professionals is to help tell the full story. For design projects this includes not only capturing the finished project photography but also what leads up to it.

For miajohnsonhome this included creating content and a YouTube video of a recent install day. Within 3 days she received 3,000+ views and new subscribers. It brings me joy to help the women I work with to succeed and tell their story.

Frames from Brand Shoot at .plymouth . Ashley has been using her photos in a variety of posts to spice up things like her market updates and more.

Her shoot consisted of Headshots, Lifestyle Photos, Prop Shots and some fun shots like intentional blurry photos (which I’m very happy she’s using effectively).
