Nestled between Appalachia and the Catskill Mountains, Pine Lake is a nature photographer's Northeastern paradise. The land was bought by Hartwick College in the 1970s and remains home for up to 36 undergraduates each academic year. During the summer, students conduct research in geology, biology, and anthropology.
