We're hiring!
Staff Photographer -- Omaha Headshot Company
Omaha, NE · Part-time · 20–30 hrs/week · $25/hr + dental & vision
---
Most photographers end up running a business whether they meant to or not. Marketing, bookkeeping, editing at midnight, chasing inquiries, weekend weddings, social media algorithms, feast-or-famine income. It's a lot to carry.
If you're a strong photographer who's thought about what it would look like to do great work without carrying all of that -- this might be worth reading.
---
WHO WE ARE
Omaha Headshot Company is a small, focused studio. Three people -- and one of those seats is opening up this summer. Our reputation is built on making clients look great and actually feel good doing it. We're looking for the right person to step into that role.
---
THE JOB
You'll shoot headshot sessions -- in-studio and on-location -- and walk clients through image selection. Our clients are executives, business owners, attorneys, physicians, and everyday professionals who often walk in nervous about being photographed. Your job is to put them at ease, bring out something real, and deliver work that holds up.
Headshot experience isn't required. Strong photography instincts are. Expression. Taste. Human connection. Consistency. We can teach studio lighting. We can't teach an eye, and we can't teach warmth.
When you're not shooting, we want someone who contributes something meaningful -- retouching, digital marketing, social media, video production, operations, something you're genuinely good at. We'll figure out together what that looks like.
---
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong photography skills
- Warm, personable, and emotionally intelligent -- clients trust you quickly
- Dependable -- you show up, follow through, communicate like an adult
- Low drama, low ego, high standards
- A real secondary skill you can point to and demonstrate
- Someone who wants to be part of something consistent, not auditioning for their next move
---
A NOTE ON SCHEDULE
This is a weekday-focused role. Rare early mornings or evening corporate events seldom occur. If you're currently shooting families and weddings on evenings and weekends and your weekdays are open -- this was essentially built around that reality.
---
HOW TO APPLY
Email [email protected] with:
- A short intro -- who you are and why this feels like the right move right now
- A link to your portfolio or work samples
- Your answer to this: What's something meaningful you'd bring to Omaha Headshot Company beyond taking good photos -- and what's a real example of you doing it?
We’ll actually probably skip anybody who applies differently.
