Some of my favorite photos are the ones that don’t feel like “photo time” at all.

Just grandma, a good book, and three little ones completely pulled into the story. These are the kinds of moments that feel ordinary while they’re happening — and end up meaning so much later. ❤️

Still one of my favorite things to photograph: the moment everything changes. 💍

The surprise - the “wait…is this actually happening?” The tears, the laughter, and that first hug after it all finally sinks in.

Proposals move fast, and you don’t get a second take—which is exactly why I love getting to capture them.

Senior year deserves more than just a yearbook photo.

This season is such a weird mix of endings and beginnings — one last year at home, one last season with your people, and a whole lot of “what’s next?”

Senior photos are a chance to freeze a little bit of who you are right now before everything changes.

Extended family photos can feel like a lot.

A bunch of adults. A bunch of kids. Different personalities, different ages, and approximately 14 people wondering where they’re supposed to put their hands. 😂

But these are some of my favorite sessions.

We’ll get the big photo with everybody together, of course—but we’ll also break it down. Grandparents with grandkids. Individual families. Couples. Cousins. Kids being kids. And all the little moments in between.

The goal isn’t just one giant group photo.

It’s a gallery that actually tells the story of your family in this season.

If it’s been a few years since your whole crew has been in the same photo, fall is a pretty good excuse to change that.

I think it’s the ordinary things we end up missing the most.

Picking them up.
Waiting for them to get home.
Hearing them in the next room.
Watching them become someone new right in front of you.

Most of the time, you don’t realize it’s the last time until long after it’s gone.

That’s why pictures matter.

Not because every season was perfect, but because the life that feels so normal right now won’t always be this easy to remember.

There are some photos that carry a little more history than others.

I’ve known this guy since he was a middle school student in my youth ministry. Years before this photo, I’d photographed him and his nephew when they were just kids.

Then I got to take his senior photos.

A year later, I photographed his proposal.

And eventually, I had the privilege of standing beside him as his pastor and performing his wedding.

Pretty special getting to photograph people through different seasons of life — and one of my favorite things about picking the camera back up again.

Senior photos are more than just checking something off the list. They’re a snapshot of a season that goes by incredibly fast.
