Alright, friends- I know I’ve been quieter than usual the past couple of days. It’s not for lack of content, because I have plenty to share. Sometimes I just don’t have the energy required to keep up with the social media side of things and lately I’ve just had so many wonderful galleries to send off and edit. That being said, I have the most beautiful story to share with you…

A couple of weeks ago, I had the absolute honor of photographing an event for Omaha Better Birth Project. If you live in the area and don’t know who they are, look them up. The amount of resources they have relating to pregnancy, birth and those difficult, early days surrounding motherhood are a blessing to so many of our communities in need.

•
At the event, I happened to notice the most beautiful couple smiling from ear-to-ear while waiting their turn to chat with various non-profits around the room. After I snapped a couple of shots, they shared with me that I had captured the exact moment they found they’re having…a GIRL! They also shared her name with me, the story behind it, and the joy radiating off of these parents-to-be told me this little one will always be surrounded by endless love and support.

For those of you who don’t know, I was an elementary classroom teacher for ten years before switching to being a full time photographer. Part of my heart will always belong in a classroom. Part of my heart will always belong to photography, especially bringing light and awareness to the ever changing beauty and strength of a mother.

While photographing seniors may not necessarily be my focus area, it is still something I very much love and enjoy getting to do when the opportunity arises.

…Here’s the exciting part: This year, I get to photograph THREE senior sessions for my former firsties! It is not lost on me what a privilege it is to get to be a part of both their first and last childhood memories 🥹

When I decided to put my whole heart and soul into photography, I didn’t know I’d also need to figure out how to be some temu version of a content-creator, too (I will never have the talent real content creators do, but I’m giving it my best effort 😂).

To add to the depth of this honor- those are our five babies you see, in a session that sums up our family summers so beautifully. Knowing my summer love letter to them is forever in print for them to reminisce on has me tearing up.

Just a couple of quick updates for you, friends!

With all 5 of our kiddos transitioning into a new school year, I’ve intentionally chosen a slower work flow for the remainder of the week. Because of this, message responses may take 24-48 hours. Thank you for your patience and understanding as I put my family’s needs first 🤎

Unfortunately, I am still dealing with iMessage issues on my phone and working with apple support. If you are attempting to reach me from an iPhone, you’ll need to shut off iMessage in settings when texting me as I’m currently unable to receive those texts. I will update you all as soon as the issue is corrected. DM’s through ig and fb are currently the best ways to get ahold of me.
