Even anxious pups need the Moon 🐾🌙

You are their whole world and they are only in yours for a short while. It is important to capture them, in their element, to treasure forever.

Katherine and I have worked together for years. I have had several sessions photographing her and her pups; the most recent was a session surrounding Oakley. I told her my dream of some day offering end-of-life sessions for geriatric or terminal pets because I know just how important it is to have those memories. I had my childhood dog in my senior photos and I have also had seniors or couples bring their dogs to sessions. Years or even months later I have had folks reach out to let me know these beautiful furry loved ones had passed and they were grateful for the photos we had been able to get.

These photos were taken in August and Miss Lucy, the sweet chihuahua at the end, passed away in November. I was lucky enough to get the chance to photograph her more than once and again at this session. She was fifteen.

As fate would have it, I had another friend reach out about a session for their pet that had a terminal diagnosis a few months later and I was privileged enough to capture those moments as well. I will be sharing photos from that session in another post. 💛

Can’t believe the year is almost over for my seniors!

Lylah is the younger sibling of a previous senior of mine and it is always a delight to be able to work with the same family again! We had the most fun laughing around Lincoln and Lylah’s sense of style was so exciting to capture! (Check out her bee earrings in slide 7)
