Photography tip!
Are you taking snow photos with your phone and are frustrated that they are turning out dark?
Cameras always try to light meter to the middle. So, if you are taking a photo of something white it will darken. The opposite happens when taking a photo of something black.
Fix: tap on your phone where there is something dark. Your camera will measure the light there and try to brighten it.
In this photo I metered from the trees instead of the snow and got an accurate photo of what it currently looks like out my back door.

At a wellness office today for headshots.

One of the things I love about doing headshots or photoshoots that are limited to a small space is tethering to my computer (on the stool in the lower left). My clients can see the images in real time and we can make changes to get the perfect shot.

I read today that the average family of four generates 5,000 photos a year. 😲

1,200 is the recommended goal for good, keepable images with the best 12 printed for walls and used for holiday greetings.

Even though summer is hanging on for all it's worth, the holidays really are just around the corner. Time to start thinking of brisk fall days and dark winter nights.

We've got family spread out across the US and there is no way we can see everyone every year. And with the last few years, we've barely seen any. I love giving and receiving holiday cards, especially ones with photos. Everyone's kids grow so fast! ied other ways of doing gingerbread houses but we always came back to the tried and true family recipe.

It's the season to plan for sharing this moment in time and get your family photos updated. For October and November, I'm offering half sessions that come with 50 free custom holiday cards.
