Miami Beach is a stunning coastal paradise known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, powdery white sand, and iconic Art Deco architecture. The palm-lined Ocean Drive buzzes with vibrant energy, while the sunsets paint the sky in warm hues of pink and orange. With its perfect blend of natural beauty and lively culture, Miami Beach offers a breathtaking escape that feels both glamorous and laid-back. This has always been a favorite spot of mine to capture sunrises. On this morning the passing storm left behind some wonderful cloud formations which allowed the sun to just break through and reveal it's breathtaking colors. The motion of the water is just so pleasing. The combination of both make for a stunning image.

Zebras are unique animals that are easily recognized by their distinctive black and white striped coat. These stripes are not only a defining feature but also serve as a form of camouflage to confuse predators such as lions and hyenas. Zebras are social animals that live in groups known as herds and communicate with each other through various sounds, such as barks, snorts, and whinnies. They are also known for their excellent memory and can recognize individual members of their herd even after being separated for a long time.

In addition to their physical characteristics, zebras are also unique in their behavior. They are known to be strong and resilient animals, capable of running at speeds of up to 65 km/h (40 mph) and can go without water for several days. Zebras are herbivores and have a specialized digestive system that allows them to extract the maximum amount of nutrients from the tough grasses and leaves that make up their diet. They are also important to their ecosystem as they help to maintain the balance of vegetation in their habitat by preventing overgrazing. Overall, the zebra's combination of physical and behavioral characteristics make them one of the most fascinating animals in the animal kingdom.

This image took a long time to capture. Watching the Zebra's behavior and waiting for that precise moment. Wildlife photography is truly difficult. My patience was rewarded with this image.

I photographed this Image during the summer and distinctly remember scraping the ice from the windshield at 3 am to get going. Arriving at the location I waited all day and into the evening where I finally exposed the Image during sunset.
What colors and very cold air but enjoying every minute of it!

I am truly amazed how this tree(Driftwood) still stands in the water. Just think of the pounding waves 24/7 on it, if you were to make a 3ft x 3ft cube and fill it with water that would weight in at 1700 plus lbs, almost a ton. By all accounts it should not be able to stand but there it is standing firm. Some of us should be like this tree.
I arrived early when it was pitch black and walked quite a distance. The coast was not exactly close to where I could park, I guess thats why this area is so pristine. I loaded my film and searched for the right spot which can be hard to do in the dark.
Little by little the light began to show and within a few minutes the colors started to pop. I waited until I could get the reflection of the tree on the sand and began to shoot, going through a few rolls of film. It was just wonderful to get not only the amazing colors but to also get the movement of the waves and clouds making a beautiful image. I wish we had more areas on the East Coast like this, somewhere to get away from all the distractions we face in life. My images are available at carloscubafineart.com

This is an Image from my recent trip to Colorado. I arrived very early to the trail that leads up to the lake where I waited for the light. Once I could see the peaks, they were covered with fog and the wind started blowing very hard and the lake was choppy. Still I prepared my gear since I was already there. All of a sudden the wind died down and I could see the fog clearing over the peaks.
The sunlight came out and the lake was like a mirror. Finally, the valley was visible with fall colors and at that moment the mountain was lit and the clouds looked as though they were crowning the the peaks. What an incredible sight, what an Amazing God we have. To God be all the Glory!

Just got back from Aspen, at first the weather did not cooperate but after a few days finally it started to change to where I could begin to capture images. I arrived at 5 am, it was pitch black, so I had to wait a little. It was really windy and cold. When I saw the first signs of light, I reached for my gear and began to set up. As the sun started to go over the mountains behind me, the clouds and the peaks began to receive its light. Finally an explosion of sunlight struck the the mountain top as thought it where on fire and the forest below showed its fall colors. The wind stopped and the lake looked like a mirror. I started clicking away and was able to capture this dramatic Image of Maroon Bells. Being satisfied, I moved on to another location and shot for a few more hours. When we arrived at the lodge that evening, we got the news of a potential hurricane with Florida in its sights. I called my friend Max Mayfield (former National Hurricane Director) and asked for his opinion and decided cut our trip shorter than planned. It's terrible to see what happened to all those folks on the west coast. These are places I have photographed and vacationed in. The area will take allot of time to restore. We will do our part to help through our church to make sure that those who are in need are the ones who get the help directly. We hope and pray for a speedy recovery!
