Every epic love story has an amazing beginning, and hearing how Julie and Casey’s story began was such a beautiful reminder that God has a hand in every path our lives take.

Sometimes the right person comes into your life at exactly the right time, and suddenly all the pieces just seem to fall into place. There is an ease about Julie and Casey together that makes you feel like this was simply how their story was always meant to unfold.

And Casey, I’m not sure I have ever seen a groom more excited to make every little detail perfect for his bride. The way you light up when you talk about Julie, the thought you have put into making this day everything she deserves, and the pure excitement you have to call her your wife says more about your love for her than any words ever could.

Julie and Casey, I have a feeling the beginning of your story was just God setting the stage for something pretty incredible. I can’t wait to watch the next chapter begin!

Just when I didn’t think the Nelson family could get any more perfect, along came sweet Eleanor!

I have had the immense privilege of watching Emma grow up, meet the love of her life, and create the most beautiful little family. But an even greater privilege has been watching her and Nick become the most incredible parents. There is such an ease in the way they love and care for their girls that it’s impossible not to think they were born to do this.

Congratulations, Emma and Nick, on your newest blessing. Welcome to this beautiful world, sweet Eleanor! You are already surrounded by more love than you could ever imagine!

They say you can tell a lot about a man by his handshake, and I’m pretty sure Colter proved that to be true.

My first impression of Colter came from that simple gesture, his handshake - strong, confident, warm, and honest. And over the next couple of hours, he lived up to every bit of it.

Colter is definitely a man of few words, but when he does have something to say, they aren’t wasted words. It didn’t take long to figure out that beneath that quiet nature is someone who knows exactly who he is. Hardworking, honest, determined, and driven. But what I really loved was catching that little glimmer of ornery every once in a while, just enough to let me know he probably keeps things interesting. 😉

I really enjoyed working with Colter, but my favorite part was watching his eyes light up and his personality really come through when he was surrounded by the things he loves most, the wide-open sky, his dog, and his truck. That was where I could really see HIM.

Colter, I may have only spent a few hours with you, but it was more than enough to know that whatever path you choose, you’re going to be just fine. You have the work ethic to get where you want to go, the determination to keep going when it gets hard, and the kind of quiet confidence that doesn’t need a lot of words to make an impression.

You’re standing right on the edge of your horizon now, with a future every bit as wide open as that Kansas sky ahead of you! Chase it, make it yours, and don’t forget to enjoy every mile along the way.

As a photographer, one of my favorite sayings is, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” And I’m not sure there has ever been a family that makes that saying feel more true than the Broyles family.

There are so many words I could use to describe them, and yet, shockingly, this is one of those times when words seem to fail me. Maybe that’s when the gift of photographs becomes even more important, when a picture can somehow capture what words simply can’t.

I don’t know that I could ever fully describe the Broyles family or what makes them so incredibly special. They are, without a doubt, one of the most remarkable groups of people I know. They love deeply, give freely, show up without being asked, and have an incredible way of putting others before themselves.

If you are lucky enough to call them friends, then you are lucky enough.

But for me, lucky doesn’t quite cover it. I feel blessed. Blessed beyond measure. Blessed to call them friends, blessed to be invited into their lives, and blessed that they continue to trust me to document some of their most precious moments.

So maybe, if I had to choose just one word for the Broyles family, it would be blessed.

Because they are a blessing, to their family, to their friends, to their community, and to so many lives they have touched without probably ever realizing the impact they’ve made.

Maybe that’s why the pictures have to tell the rest of the story this time.

A little bit of cloud cover, a little bit of rain, a little bit of golden sun... somehow, all of it came together perfectly for Emersyn’s session!

Emersyn, I loved getting the chance to hang out with you and really get to know the person you’ve grown into. It’s only been 10(ish) years since the last time I got to photograph you! I loved getting a glimpse into all of your favorite things—from the vintage trucks, to your passion for soccer, to your sweet pup (we won’t talk about your dislike of ducks!). Every part of this session was perfectly YOU!

The fire burns deep in you, Emersyn. You have the drive, the dedication, and the work ethic to do amazing things. It didn’t take me long to figure out that you are no drama, low maintenance, and completely comfortable just being yourself. That easy-going personality definitely showed when it started raining right in the middle of your session and it didn’t faze you one bit! You patiently waited it out, then jumped right back in and never missed a beat.

You don’t crave attention or need the spotlight, you are simply exactly who you are, and you own it. There is something pretty incredible about that.

Emersyn, you have so much going for you, and I can’t wait to see which path you choose next. Your opportunities are endless! This is your year to soar higher than ever, fly above the clouds, chase the golden light, and keep your eyes straight on the horizon. The best is still ahead of you!

I have had the immense pleasure of watching Kolton grow up over the last few years, so when he chased me down this summer to ask me to take his senior pictures, I was more than honored!

Kolton, you sir, are truly a jack of all trades. You don’t limit yourself or your interests, and I absolutely love that about you! I’ve watched you conquer competitive biking, excel in wrestling, and now getting to see you work toward another passion, welding, was so much fun. You even took me around to some of your favorite places for your session, and every stop seemed to show another side of who you are.

One thing is for sure, Kolton, you aren’t afraid to try something new, and you definitely know the value of hard work. You’re willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, and you do it with pride. You are hardworking, honest, determined, and competitive, but most of all, you are FUN! You’re quick to laugh, always ready with a smile, and you’re the kind of genuine friend people are lucky to have.

You have so much going for you, Kolton, and I can’t wait to see where life takes you. Keep saying YES to the adventures, keep pushing yourself to be your best, and most of all, keep living life to its fullest! This is your year, Kolton, make it a good one!

It might have been so hot when we took Kade’s pictures that I was afraid my skin might melt off, but there was Kade looking cool and chill the whole time!

I always love meeting up with the Countryman crew. There’s a 100% guarantee of tons of laughs and lots of amazing pictures, and Kade’s session was no exception. Kade, you were so much fun to photograph! You went along with whatever your mom and I came up with, including a photographer’s choice picture....IKYK 🤣

Kade, your laid-back personality makes you so easy to get along with, but one look at all those State rings on your fingers tells you there’s a whole lot of determination, drive, and grit behind that easy-going personality. And apparently, there’s an adventurous side too, because you hopped right up on a balcony ledge without blinking an eye while your mom and I stood there hyperventilating, all for the perfect picture!

I have no doubt that whatever path you choose, Kade, you’re going to be successful. You have the ability to roll with whatever is thrown your way, but you also have the drive and confidence to step up and lead when it matters. That combination is going to take you far.

I’m excited to see where this year takes you, but even more excited to see where the years ahead lead you.

Make this year your own, Kade! Collect that last ring, make all the memories, have a whole lot of fun, and keep looking forward to whatever comes next. I have a feeling it’s going to be pretty amazing!

I always know when I photograph a Bailey kid that I’m going to be in for a treat, and Abbott’s session was no exception!

It has been such an honor to be chosen to photograph all of the Bailey kids, but equally as amazing is getting to work with Heather. I always know she is going to come with excellent ideas and an artistic flair! I absolutely loved the vintage look Abbott brought to his session. He went along with every idea we came up with and somehow made each one his own with his unique style.

Abbott, you’ve had some hard knocks this past year, but I never saw them truly knock you down. Instead, I watched a phoenix rise from the ashes, coming back stronger, more driven, more passionate, and more determined than ever. I’m sure there were days that were hard, but what I saw was someone who kept smiling, kept pushing forward, and kept a positive outlook. And what I know about someone with that kind of character is that they are going to go far.

I can’t wait to see where your path leads you. You have the confidence to know you can achieve your dreams, the determination to put in the work to reach them, and the attitude to have a whole lot of fun along the way. Keep working hard, keep flashing that adorable side smile, and keep setting the bar higher, because there isn’t much I can imagine being out of your reach.

Shine your brightest this year, Abbott. You’ve already made up for lost time, and now it’s time to make this year yours. This is the year you go after it all!

Oh Sophia, you definitely brought the style to your session, and you did it with such ease and natural grace that you made it all look effortless!

Sophia, you have lived such an exciting life and experienced cultures that a lot of us will never get the opportunity to experience, but somehow, it seems like Kansas is exactly where you were made to be! I loved watching you troop through a field calling cows, handle horses with complete confidence, and somehow look absolutely stunning doing it all in a dress, and sometimes even barefoot!

Sometimes people come into your life at just the right moment, and Sophia did that for me. She was the ray of sunshine and breath of fresh air that I needed, and I know that if she did that for me, there are so many others she has done that for as well. Sophia, never doubt the impact you have on the people around you. You are smart, driven, confident, and have an adventurous spirit that is going to take you places. You have all the qualities it takes to be successful, and I am so excited to see where your path leads you!

I know you already have an exciting year ahead of you, Sophia! Don't stop chasing adventures, walking barefoot, calling cows, and spreading that joy wherever you go. Have the absolute best senior year, you deserve every minute of it!

You would never know from these pictures that Brailey was going to have surgery the very next day! But that is Brailey—she just rolls with whatever life throws at her and somehow manages to have the best attitude through it all.

Brailey's session was SO much fun! She had clear ideas of what she wanted, but she trusted me to take those ideas and create something that showed you all how I see her, the beautiful, confident, driven, sweet, but also incredibly tough girl that she is.

Everything about Brailey's session was show-stopping—the sun, the clouds, the light, but most of all, the GIRL! Brailey, you absolutely shined, and I have no doubt your future is going to shine just as brightly. You've been handed a setback, but if I know you the way I think I do, you're going to turn it into something that makes you even stronger, tougher, and more determined. I don't know that there is much in this world that could keep you down!

Brailey, this may not be the senior year you expected, but make it the year you deserve! You have the determination, the strength, the joy, and that glow that no setback can take away from you.

I can't wait to see where your path leads you next, but one thing I know for sure, you are going to keep shining, keep doing amazing things, and keep leaving a little bit of that light with everyone lucky enough to know you.
