I’ve been thinking a lot about the difference between making life easier and making life better.

They overlap sometimes. But not always.

There are a few things I’ve started deliberately making room for again—not because they’re more efficient, but because they make me feel more present in my own life.

I’m still figuring out where that line is.

I MESSED UP 😭

I thought this was going to be the easy part.

Buy the NAS. Move the movies over. Set up Plex.

Then one problem turned into another… and another… and another. 😭

Turns out building my own streaming service was going to take a little more trial and error than I expected.

I got tired of choosing between ownership and convenience.

Streaming was easy—but nothing was really mine.

Physical media fixed that… but suddenly movie night meant shelves, cases, discs, and getting off the couch every time I wanted to watch something.

So I wondered:

What if I could have both?

My movies. My library. The convenience of streaming.

That question eventually turned into my own personal streaming service.
