The UCO Mass Communication's Photographic Arts program and the Woody Gaddis Gallery seeks entries for the juried photographic exhibition entitled “The Lighter Side”. Through challenging times, art allows its creators and viewers to escape into their imagination or to connect through the absurdity of life. We seek images that showcase the resiliency of creation as a means to uplift.

Digital Submissions must be received by 11:59PM on Wednesday, Jan. 5th, 2022. Anyone is eligible to enter. There is no entry fee to compete.

Hope and I had the best time running around Tulsa for her senior photos. She collaborated with me on all my quirky ideas, like wrapping her hair in the flowers and kicking at my lens. Her fearlessness is taking her places. Next stop: Colorado State University! There's no doubt she'll succeed on this next journey.

Many 2020 seniors are finding their final semester isn't quite as imagined, due to the COVID-19 outbreak. As an educator, I hope these uncertain times cause a spike in creativity and ingenuity.
