HI!! I am back on this account and finally sharing some updates with you all. For those who follow my personal account, you probably already know this. For those that don’t, I want to share before you see me posting on here again!

I made the decision about a year ago to transition out of wedding photography and further my career at an advertising agency. I never wanted to close the “doors” to my business and was hesitant to even share this for so long because I have LOVED getting to photograph so many weddings. I just knew I needed a break and to figure out where I wanted my business to go. So much happened over that time period that took me away from posting/showing up here. I unexpectedly lost my mom, was working a full-time job on top of weddings in the fall, juggling family life and work life, etc… all that to say, the past year has been a journey.

Now that I have had some space, I feel rejuvenated and ready to jump back in! ✨ I have decided I am going to start booking/advertising for all sessions again. ✨ Including: branding, fun creative sessions, family sessions, seniors, etc. I’ll start sharing more of these types of sessions I’ve done over the years. I’m going to update my website to reflect that work more. I’m not 100% closed off to weddings, but I do have to be mindful of how many/when I book them.

I also might be dipping my toes into freelance content creation, so if you’re a small business owner and need to outsource your content creation… 👀 let’s chat. ✨

New headshots ✨ Hi, it’s me!
Instead of doing the typical “about me” post, I want to talk about how hard this session was for me…

I struggle a lot with body image. Like, for as long as I can remember I’ve constantly compared my body to others and wondered why I couldn’t look like X,Y,Z. There have been times at my smallest that I still felt large and didn’t realize I wasn’t and there are times I’m at my largest and feel small.

This past year I’ve been trying my best to have a healthier relationship with my body image. Not forcing myself to lose weight or go on strict diets. Truly just making it a priority to serve my body in the ways that it needs (and sometimes just wants 🍦). This focus really began when I was forced to stop working out as hard as I’m used to because of the chronic pain that I had. I couldn’t always go for long runs or do HITT training and it forced me to slow down.

Fast forward to today and I’m at my heaviest again. A size that I swore I’d never get back to. And part of me is devastated and scared. But a bigger part of me knows that I deserve to be thankful for this body. I deserve to have the photos taken. This body is beautiful. This body has gotten me through so many hardships and celebrations. This body is healing from surgery. It protected me when I had acute appendicitis and it lives with endometriosis. And I’m so grateful for all this body has done for me and continues to do.

Part of me was hoping my body issues would magically go away after my surgery/diagnoses. Part of me saw that some women heal really quickly and it’s no big deal, so surely that’ll be me. But every body is different and I need to give myself more grace and patience and space to heal and love my body that’s protecting me. My hope and my goal is to always strive to be comfortable in my own skin. Not a certain weight or size, but comfort. And I’m getting there… but I wanted to share my story because I know I’m not the only one that feels this way. We all deserve to love our bodies in all stages of life. 🤍
