Glen and Cassie’s engagement session had me feeling like I stepped into a classic romance novel 😍

Would you believe these were taken while most of Oklahoma, our county included, was under a tornado watch?? 😅 but the thing people don’t realize is, a lot of times these storms pass through and the clouds open up to reveal the prettiest, sparkly sunlight. Some of the prettiest days in Oklahoma come alongside a tornado watch 🤪

Loved taking these for these two! And I promise to *try* to be better about regular posting again soon - your girl has been ~overwhelmed~ but still over here chugging along!

Grateful for longer days, more sunlight, and couples who trust me to take some of their most special photos yet!

It’s baby fever right now and I’m loving every second of capturing such an exciting time in the lives of so many people I care about!

Cannot wait to meet BB BOY HIGGINS!!! So so so excited for these two 🥹🥰👶🏻🍼🤰

Also, this shoot was a test in my lighting abilities because it got a little too late for true natural light and I was determined to mimic it. Not perfect, but I’ll pat myself on the back because not too shabby for a couple of cheap LEDs and a photographer/videographer who really needs to take a lighting class refresher 🙃📸🎥

I’ve spent the past week redesigning our wedding services pricing guide and contract (17 pages of documents total!). Did you know when you’re a very, very small business, you get to do all the super fun management work that goes into running a business too 🙃 in these moments, we are abundantly grateful for tools like chatGPT and friends who are attorneys.

It was definitely time for a refresh after 15 years shooting weddings, and as we transition into a full service wedding photography, videography, and bundled photo + video business. My lead videographer with has made that possible, and we have loved working alongside VEUX.

We are still very much an all encompassing creative media production business, and weddings are only part of that. However, we are so excited to expand in this area and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of our future couples 💍

One of my favorite parts of shooting weddings is capturing the authentic love and connection present, not just with between the couple, but between every person that’s been part of each of their lives and helped bring them to this moment.

I’ve gotten to witness so many different kinds of relationships and have gotten to see so much variety in the people that step up to be family. I’ve gotten to capture first looks with dads and stepdads and grandfathers and brothers, and I’ve also gotten to capture brides walking down the aisle with mom, sharing their father/daughter dance with multiple father figures, doing a first look with with their grandmother, and so many things to honor those they’ve loved and lost. I’ve seen uncles help grooms with their ties, photos of lost siblings sitting in the front row, and a countless amount of other significant ways family and friends have been honored. It’s not just the relationships present that I get to capture, but the love that remains even after we have to say goodbye, and it’s present on this day, I promise.

This is so special for me, too, because I won’t get to have so many of my most loved people there if I ever have my own wedding, but being able to see and capture all the love despite the reality of loss is so encouraging to me.
