So, I learned a valuable lesson last night. Solar events--especially comets--wait for no man. 3 days ago, the brightness of Comet Neowise was about 10 times brighter than it was last night when I went to capture it. I'm kind of bummed, but I'm happy I got it! We'll probably go out Saturday night as well, but it will be slightly fainter.

Thank you, Major Taylor, for your ultimate sacrifice and dedication to not only our community, but our country.

For those of you not familiar, North Ogden mayor Brent Taylor was killed in Afghanistan on November 3. hung their flag across Coldwater Canyon in his honor for Veteran's day. It's a beautiful tribute to a hero whose memory will live on.

As many of you know, I went to Kenya in 2017 and 2016. I will be going back in 2019--WAY longer in between trips than I'd like, but I'm happy to be going back! In fact, a bunch of us from the 2016 trip are trying to go on that November trip.

Which, of course, made me nostalgic for Kenya. It's hard *not* to want to go back!

In honor of that decision and goal, here's a picture of a Kenyan sunrise that makes me happy. Hopefully it'll make your day as well. :)

Here in Utah, we're being treated to the bi-annual Hill Air Force Base air show. We're fortunate enough to live in the flight path when the USAF F-16 Thunderbirds fly directly over our neighborhood. You can see that the pilot is looking in my direction, if not directly at me, which makes me wonder what they're thinking. :) To SSgt Michael Knapp and/or SSgt. Kaitlyn Lamolinara, thank you for the show. If it's no skin off your neck, could I get a thumbs-up on the next pass?! :) Just kidding. Sort of.
