first, I would like to say "thank you" from the bottom of my heart for coming to my humble page and cheering me on as I work on learning how to become a better photographer. They paint a picture or tell a story through images. A photographer records memories, events, time and people through a camera. From weddings to wars, photographers capture life as it happens." When I was 15 years old, I would
dress my younger sister up, do her hair and makeup and give her a prop to hold. I would sit her in front of a makeshift backdrop and take her picture. Life happened and I stopped taking pictures until I was 27. I had a baby boy (Jakob) and just wanted to capture his every moment. A Canon Rebel was marked down by 55% so obviously it was meant to be mine! I always love a good deal. :) I took pictures of anything and everything. I didn't even know how to work anything on my camera but the "auto" function. In 2010, we were blessed with a little Diva (Alyssa). So, since naturally girls are WAY more fun to dress up and photograph than boys....i started dressing her up and taking her pictures. and i LOVE it. So, a couple people here and there started asking me to take their kid's pictures. They liked my vintage style. and they gave me a chance. even though they know i am still learning. And that is why I created this page. I know I have a ways to go. but I am ok with that. and I know that people say the market is over saturated with photographers and i am ok with that too. I have had the pleasure of meeting some very good local and non-local photographers that I cannot wait to feature on my page. Because, for me, it isn't about "competition". It is about doing something that i honestly love. I only want to be in a competition with myself. I want the pictures I take next to be better than the ones I took before. and I don't ever want to stop learning. When I was younger, my dad really inspired me. He told me I will never amount to anything. He passed away at the age of 54, but i am still determined to prove him wrong. I think that is why I give so much, I try so hard. I want to do a good job at anything I put my name to. I worked at a job for 8 years making the most money I had ever made in my life. I HATED it. so I quit. LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO BE MISERABLE. in closing I would like to say thank you for believing in me enough to stick around and enjoy this journey with me. My hope is that while you read this, you are at a happy place in your life. doing what you love. I know I am. special thanks to my family, for sticking by me. my mom, Antoinette, for being the most influential person in my life. for teaching me the difference between right and wrong, for teaching me to hold my head up high, and for sticking by my side, believing in me and being my biggest cheerleader. I don't say "you're the best mom in the world" lightly. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I hope to make all of ya'll proud some day. (and if none of this makes sense. I am sorry. I have been interrupted at least 20 times by my five year old whining "mommy, when are you going to call my Granny?")
