Yesterday, I taught a fine art portrait workshop at studio to such a lovely group of students who wanted to take their art to the next level.

We went over the entire step by step process of envisioning to creating a fine art images and what that means. From initial concept to the last detail of editing, we covered it all.

Happy World Book Day!

Here’s to the girls with novels in their laps, the reflective moments between pages, and the portraits that have a backstory. Books have a way of making an image feel more human, more personal, and a little more magical.

The earth carries on being beautiful as long as she can.

Earth Day feels like a good time to pause and appreciate what we still have, and maybe also acknowledge that taking care of the planet should not be a once-a-year thing we check off a list. It should be ongoing and something we live every day. The planet gives us so much beauty, peace, and perspective, and it deserves better than how we treat it.

We have a beautiful world. Let’s appreciate and respect it. ♥️

tfw you can’t power through the depressive episode anymore.

remember, it’s okay to not be okay. and even though I’m not okay, I promise I will be again. I’m just taking time to acknowledge its presence and allowing myself to rest.

if you’re new to my page, this is par for my course. we don’t stigmatize mental health around here, so I’m generally open about the hand I’ve been dealt. kind words are always welcome; unsolicited advice - especially the bs get out into the sunshine kind - is not.

Children change right before your eyes.

One minute, they are small enough to fit in the crook of your arm, and the next, they have longer limbs, older eyes, and a face that strangely looks both familiar and new. It happens right under your nose while you are busy living your life, and then one day, it hits you all at once.

That is why these portraits matter. They are not simply beautiful photographs. They are a way of preserving this version of your child with the care, intention, and artistry they deserve.

I do not create portraits just for a phone screen or a folder that gets forgotten. I create them for your walls, for your home, and for the life you are building around the people you love most.

This season will not stay the same forever, but a portrait can hold onto it for you.
