I've been a little quiet here, but I’ve been busy behind the scenes working on something very special — and diving into Round 2 of our "40 Fabulous Women Over 40" project.

I’m so proud to finally share our "40 Over 40" MAGAZINE, celebrating every incredible women who participated in the first round of this project! Each woman thoughtfully shared her story, reflecting on her experience as a woman over 40 — where she’s been, where she is now, and what she’s looking forward to in the next chapter of her life. We uplift each other when we tell our stories and this is meant to do just that.

I've always said that you'll never know what a woman has been through in life unless you ask her directly. We are masters at carrying on "as usual", even when life is anything but usual. I learned so much about the experiences each woman has gone thru and how she has been able to keep going, and I am humbled.

Their stories are honest, insightful, and deeply inspiring. Creating this magazine was a true labor of love and my way of honoring the courage, strength, and openness each woman brought to the project.

What an honor to be in ‘s orbit. She had her 40/40 session last week and came in today for her ordering appt. and brought these absolutely beautiful sunflowers for me as a gift…. It was a very very rainy day today and this is pretty much whatJoAnn does. Brings the sunshine in the darkness. I had made a little sample print of one of my favorite images of her and it just showcases so much about her. Thankful for the love she sprinkles all around💫

On International Women’s Day, I have the honor of celebrating each woman that I’ve photographed for our 40 Women Over 40 portrait project, at our Gala and Art Exhibit this evening. I am full of so much gratitude for every single woman who said “Yes” to being a part of this experience and transforming the way we perceive ourselves as we age. Our stories are impactful and are worth telling. Our bodies are strong & beautiful and are worthy of being seen. This experience is meant to help us reflect on where we are right now in our life, where we have been, and where we are excited to going next✨✨✨✨✨

This Saturday is one of the most important days of my career. I am hosting our Celebration Gala and Art Exhibit for our 40 Fabulous Women Over 40 Portrait Project. We will have 100 people gathering at my beloved Jersey Shore Arts Center to celebrate the strength and extreme tenacity it takes to be a woman in this world. These women have stories that have moved me so deeply and will inspire those who listen. Some of our women will be sharing their stories at our Gala and some women will be sharing their talents by signing. All will be recognized and celebrated. The artwork is hung, the tables will be set and the sun is going to shine. My team of friends, family and studio mates have made this experience possible and I am feeling GOOD. Thank you All.

I'd like you to meet Pastor Stephanie Lashley, one of the amazing 40 women participating in our 40 Women Over 40 Portrait Project. Stephanie lives down the shore and owns the Southpaw Gym - Boxing, Muay Thai, Mixed Martial Arts in Neptune NJ along with her husband. She is also the founder of MOAN - Mothers of Angels Nearby which provides support to mothers who have lost a child. Stephanie experienced that loss firsthand and helps other women cope with the tremendous grief and sorrow that only a fellow parent could understand. They offer a space to come together and talk about topics that they face on a daily basis, and are a resource. MOAN has events and activities, and also a healing retreat. Stephanie is an amazing human being. Her experience throughout life hasn't been an easy journey and she shares much of what she's learned in her published book Forgiving All Mine Enemies. Getting to work with Stephanie has been an honor for me. She is deep, passionate and hilarious. She immediately puts you at ease by being very honest and very real. Her portrait work we created together shows the many sides of her, and here is a sampling of my favorite images.
