For most everyone, the kids are back in school.
For some, they celebrated their **last first day**. High school seniors. š„¹
For those moms and dads, buckle up. That first day was the beginning of a whole year of ālasts.ā The last first day. The last homecoming. The last season. The last concert. The last spring break. And eventually, the last day they walk out those school doors as a student.
Senior year has a way of moving at warp speed.
So as you take in all of those milestones, donāt forget to step back and stare a little.
This is such an incredible in-between. Theyāre still your kid, but theyāre standing right on the edge of adulthood. All those years of caring, nurturing, teaching, worrying, cheering and showing up have helped prepare them for whatās right around the corner.
And somewhere in the middle of all the schedules, applications, celebrations and lasts, make some space to remember **who they are right now**.
Not just what they looked like senior year, but who they were becoming.
Thatās the part worth holding onto.
And maybe years from now, when you turn the pages, youāll be really glad you did.
