About me:
My name is Casey Quist and I am a Novice Photographer. I am looking to begin my career in birth photography. Since I was a little girl I have always had a strong passion for photography and received my first camera at age 4. I pursued an education in photography for many years until life happened and starting a family of my own took priority. I married the love of my life, delivered thr
ee healthy beautiful children, and I have been blessed in many ways since I began this journey. I have been so fortunate to be able to stay home with my babies since birth and soak up every minute of joy, laughter, fun, and memory making with them for their entire lives this far and I wouldn’t have it any other way! That being said, that does not mean I cannot pursue my dreams as well and I feel fate is pushing me towards this dream specifically. In order to pursue this dream I am starting my business by offering my services free of charge until I have a portfolio of several happy clients proudly in hand! I’m looking to gain experience, not get rich. You will have the choice as to whether or not I can use the photos for examples. All photos will be released to you via digital copy for printing as you desire with a signed copyright release attached. I will also provide digital editing and enhancements. I spend around 1 week organizing the photos, 1 week editing the photos, so in total it will be 7-14 days return time. Your disk will arrive by mail. If you would like to know more about my services or set up a consultation with me FREE OF CHARGE, please feel free to contact me at

My role as photographer during your delivery~
1. After initial contact, a face to face meeting is arranged. And once an agreement has been reached I will schedule a weekly visit during the last 2-4 weeks of pregnancy to get to know you and your family dynamic and become familiar with the personalities I’m working with.
2. I will arrive for the shoot when you have reached 6 CM unless extenuating circumstances require me to be there sooner.
3. I will be on call and ready to leave at a moment’s notice during the last few weeks of your delivery.
4. I will try and be as invisible as possible in the delivery room. My job is to be a fly on the wall and not interrupt the atmosphere of the laboring mother in any way.
5. I will use no flash as I am highly knowledgeable about taking photographs in low light conditions.
6. I will NEVER ask you for anything or speak out of turn. A fly on the wall focused on capturing the most precious moments.
7. I will wear neutral clothing so as not to distract anyone with my appearance.
8. I will not wear perfumes or jewelry of any kind.
9. My personal cell phone will remain on silent at all times and my camera sounds have been disabled.
10. I may cry. But don’t worry. I’ve cried at every birth I’ve ever witnessed. I am a really quiet crier.
11. My energy during every deliver is that of a calm, quiet, non-interruptive, non-intrusive figure who is there to capture every moment possible and stay focused on achieving that goal.
12. I respect any and all requests made of me by the family. IF I am asked to leave. I leave. If I am asked to photograph something not previously discussed for some reason, I photograph it.
13. After knowing your desired location for delivery, I will research the hospitals policies and make sure we are prepared to respect and follow the rules accordingly. Early communication between patients, caregivers, photographers, and hospital staff is KEY.
14. I will NEVER ask you to pose. I may not say much at all. I not there to be a PART of the experience, I’m there to capture every detail of your experience.
15. I shoot birth photos in black and white because they convey the emotions and portray the story so much better by bringing the story to life. This is the story of a life beginning and that’s best told in black and white photos. Not to mention delivery rooms are full of crazy obnoxious patterns. Brightly colored walls, and lots of dark cold medical equipment with bright red lights. All of those things are very distracting from the focus of the photographs which is to capture any convey the story of your child’s birth and the very raw and intense emotions that come along with it. It all usually goes by so fast; many mothers are overjoyed to look back at these photos and be reminded of every little detail and emotion they couldn’t possibly have remembered otherwise. I’m there to capture those details and make sure you NEVER forget them!
16. The photos will include images and scenes from the birthing room and hospital, images before, during and after delivery. I can also capture newborn photos once mom is moved to postpartum recovery and comfortable should she request it.
17. Your privacy is one of my highest priorities. We will discuss in our first consultation exactly what kind of images you do or do not want captured on your big day. There is no request that will make me uncomfortable in any way. I’m here to tell your story as you desire it to be told. If you want no body parts showing, no body parts will be shown, if you every intimate detail captured, I am comfortable with that as well.
