Five million people joined the NO KINGS! march on June 14 because they remembered the lessons of history. They wanted to make a statement that we would remain a country ruled by a constitution and not the whims of a wannabe dictator. We can only hope that our fellow citizens will realize that our democracy is far more valuable than the price of a dozen eggs.

This school admin building, on an old school site, brings some sparkle, literally, to this blue-collar neighborhood of aging Victorian homes and light industry. The lead architect form SKA Architects, Nestor Mena, designed the long rectangular building with a metal loggia that provides both shade and a handsome path on two sides of the building. The vertical faces contain large colorful panels of a variety of rectangular shapes and hues. The classroom metaphor cannot be missed.
