We took a delayed trip to the Outer Banks this weekend to celebrate our anniversary and to catch a few shots of the horses on Shackleford Banks and Carrot Island. I also got a couple of great shots of a seagull grabbing a young ray at the waterline. I hope you enjoy!

I took an opportunity to go check out some local fall colors up at Fall Creek Falls in Mayo State Park in Mayodan. Thankfully we didn't fall while we were up there but did catch many of the fall colors and falling leaves.

I took some time today to go pay a visit to Statesville Regional Airport to see only one of two still flying B-29 Superfortresses. Though the crowd was large and the wait time to go inside the plane was over 2 hours (I skipped that part), I did still manage to get some pretty decent shots from the outside. Unfortunately you could only see the right side of the plane the way it was roped off but you adapt and overcome.

Just completed a big chunk of the bucket list at the Outer Banks this weekend. I decided to head east this year instead of chasing leaves in the mountains and I am so glad I did. Very few people, no long traffic lines and the weather was beautiful. I wasn't able to capture any bear images at the Alligator River and Pungo Refuges, but the turtles were sure happy to see me.
