Moonlight on the river
fog and shadow on display
drifting off together
in these fading shades of gray
Light to find the forest floor
to kiss the ground the leaves adorn
where shadows dance in moonlights sway
and fog and rivers drift away

Kaleidoscopic Colored Night
Kaleidoscopic colored night
a spectrum on display
poetry in motion
as it fades from blue to gray
Rosy hues are now imbued
with scarlet fires to burn
as pastel purples paint away
and yellows wait their turn
Dawn to come, begin again
as color reignites
the longing heart in yearning
for kaleidoscopic nights

Lonesome night
evoke, invite
persuade this jaded heart
black and white to coincide
with flicks betwixt the stars
Time’s embrace in slow reveal
a moment gone, another still
yet here alone in autumn’s chill
invoke this lonesome night I will

The sands of time are ebbing
etching life in darkened lines
love and salt upon these lips
adrift, this rift to ride
Moments few to rendezvous
like oceans rhythmic rhyme
serenade as thoughts are made

Words to come and pouring still
from cups that runneth over spill
to find that flash in thoughts askew
from words that match our points of view
Yet linger still this residue
upon my heart, it’s clinging to
And all the while what more to ask
for words to come like lightnings flash
and thunderous hearts go beating too

Captured Just A Piece Of You
Captured just a piece of you
in ever changing points of view
kaleidoscopic colors paint
in reds and blues and cans and cant’s
as silence plays for you and me
in old familiar melodies
Time a thief like wolves to sheep
in dream like states of waking sleep
While still-frames pass in painted skies
and time like scenes go flashing by
A silent film of loves decree
forever starring you and me
All the times the lines had blurred
in spiteful hearts and jagged words
made to watch as thoughts occur
as multicolored flashes blur
Hearts holding close with penance due
these treasured thoughts in rendezvous
in ever changing points of view
captured just a piece of you

Summer sun on deeds undone
and smoke is drifting low
spirits soar as thoughts explore
the endless ebb and flow
Words to dance, in happenstance
aloud with none to know
‘cept swaying trees to some degrees
and breezes as they blow
Sing a hymn of lonesome limb
and time itself to slow
