Erica Wurtz was in for photography of her thrown and hand built stoneware two years ago. The size and unusual shapes and textures always present a fun lighting challenge, and something we've been working on, together, since 2002! A link to Erica's website is in the comments.

"Saving The House", photographed two years ago today, is one of my favorite Bruce Ackerson paintings, and I believe it was supposed to be in an exhibit at Anchor House in Northampton this month. Oh well, hopefully all the galleries will be opening again soon. A link to Bruce's website is in the comments.

Just a year ago Martin Rosol was in to photograph some new glass pieces. These two views of same piece demonstrate how the point of view is so important when viewing Martin's work. See the link in the comments to learn more about Martin and his work.

On this date three years ago, Susan Halls was in the studio for photographs of one of her latest creatures. We always had a lot of fun working together on her books and simple projects like this, and I miss working with her now that she's moved back to her native UK. A link to her website is in the comments, cheers!

Last year at this time I was photographing the ceramic art of Lauren Mabry, installed at Ferrin Contemporary at MassMoCA in North Adams. The exhibit titled, Fused, alludes to the melted surface created within the kiln. For more information on Lauren's work, there is a link in the comments.

In the late 19th century American museums were collecting plaster cast replicas of classical works of art. At a time when world travel was limited to the few, these replicas allowed visitors to experience Greek, Roman and Italian sculpture that would otherwise require a long and expensive trip overseas. The George Walter Vincent Smith Museum in Springfield, MA, still retains a large collection and just one year ago I photographed several for the museum. Click the link in the comments to learn more about this collection.

Three years ago today, Bart Niswonger, farmer by day, and furniture maker, was in the studio to photograph this "Spotted Armoire". Bart's work is known for its bright colors, rich textures and tactile surfaces. Also I can attest that his farm products are delicious! Two links are in the comments, one to his furniture site, and the other to the Kinne Brook Farm site.
