I love the swirl that forms at the base of this falls. I've visited it a number of times and the unique shape causes this eddy to appear each time. Makes for such a cool composition. 🍥 A true unknown gem of the Poconos.

Another view of some of the falls we visited the other weekend 💦 . The laurels were getting ready to bloom and everything was so lush. With the heat it really felt tropical. I'm thinking about doing some 'behind the shot" reels to show how I captured a scene. Is that something anyone cares about? Too bad, I'm doing it anyways 😂

A sweltering day of exploration in the gorge. I had saved a route including a few different streams sometime last winter. I wasn't sure if anything would be running due to the higher temps but we made the long trek anyways. What we found blew us away. The morning light in the gorge framed forests of laurel and some pines.

The steep descent down the first stream tested us but the reward was a few beautiful falls. Once at the bottom we followed an old grade my friend swore existed...luckily for us it did. We passed some old ruins and a water snake before reaching a hidden gorge. The map seemed to show something above... It was incredibly steep and rugged but we made the arduous climb. I named it upper grand falls in honor of the northern section of the Lehigh River. A 50 foot wide and 40 ft fall double drop falls connected to a large rock fracture. It featured an incredible root system climbing down the rocks. I can't wait to see it with some ice. I bet it's incredible.

After that we returned to the old grade and hiked further upstream to reach our exit river. Halfway up I realized I had never been to this spot 😂 we were again treated to some nice falls culminating in a mossy grotto from heaven..

All in all, another great day in the woods.
