Some details belong in a senior session because they look beautiful. Others belong because they carry a piece of the person.

The Giving Tree was one of her favorite childhood books, and its story has stayed with her—helping shape the way she wants to live. Including it in her senior portraits along with her “constant companions” connected a meaningful part of her childhood with the person she is becoming.

Fall senior photos are hard to beat. 🍂

This session has everything I love in a family gallery: a strong portrait of all three, individual images that let each daughter’s personality come through, and a playful frame to round it out. Their neutral palette and denim layers looked beautiful against all that green.

A rainy day plus boys with energy playing together lead to the inevitable bloody nose on a white shirt. Ideal for pictures 🤪. But don’t worry, Photoshop helped remove the blood and we got some great shots of the boys including some fun candids! Don’t worry, I didn’t include any of the candids of the nosebleed.

The girls from the family session. It’s not often during a family session that one of the family members asks for more pictures… but I LOVE when this happens because things start flowing differently and we experiment a little. So there are a few more individual pictures of the daughter than usual for a family session. And with intermittent sprinklers coming down, we have the ever elusive rainbow that shows up in a few.

It was the second weekend in a row a family picked the same location (and it’s not one I often see photographers frequent, so very unexpected). However, this time it wasn’t raining and it was early morning, which changed how and where we photographed this wonderful family making it look like a completely different location on a whole. And how much they have changed since their last family session! Their oldest daughter suggested a human pyramid, I’m pretty sure as a joke, but we did it anyway. I think the kids were a little reluctant about pictures to start, but they were all smiling by the end. Thanks for putting your trust in me again!
