I shot this right after he emerged from the cocoon! The wings are wet & they hang out for a bit to let them dry! God is amazing! He has them go through that whole process an become a whole new being! Just like being reborn into His kingdom!

I stay all winter, watching your yard from the treetops.
Bright feathers, sharp mind, and a memory built for survival.

• I cache thousands of acorns each fall and recover most of them
• Some forgotten acorns become future oak forests
• I mimic hawks to scare rivals away from food
• My alarm calls warn other birds and animals of danger
• My mate and I defend our territory together through winter
• Dense evergreens protect me from wind and night predators

Plant oaks, offer peanuts in the shell, and keep shelter thick.
A healthy yard for me becomes a stronger forest for everyone.
