It still feels so recent, but has been 25 years since America had such a terrible tragedy. I still remember my day that year as a 13 year old. Every year I read and watch more and more stories and documentaries and learn a new story at least once. I know there are so many not told or heard even still. I will never forget this day and I truly hope the rest of the country never does either.

This was a very interesting night! We were in Valdez and we were watching the sea lions in the hatchery and all of a sud...

This was a very interesting night! We were in Valdez and we were watching the sea lions in the hatchery and all of a sudden they ALL turned one way and started to vocalize. They were MAD. Turned to see what they were all looking at and saw this boat.
This boat was as close as I've ever seen to the hatchery and they did not want them there. They didn't take the hint so the main and largest male swam quickly out to the boat and I was worried he was going to ram the boat or something. Instead he swam circles around them and would vocalize and circle some more. They still didn't get the hint. Instead kinda laughed and took photos. A male Stellar sea lion can weigh 2500 pounds and is can reach 11 feet long. I wouldnt want to be on the wrong side of that. There was plenty of space for the boat to leave and still be able to get enough fish. I had my sister take a video because I was worried for the boat but also the sea lion. We left after about 10 minutes but the boat did not. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø
