Taylor and Eric waited a really long time for their wedding celebration to finally happen -- they actually eloped to New Orleans a year ago but still wanted to celebrate with friends and family when it was safe to do so. Taylor is an extremely talented photographer so I felt humbled she'd ask me to document her VERY OKAY wedding. 😉 Despite rain and a suit fiasco, this wedding was full of all the things worth waiting for.

Austin and Marlee didn't let a global pandemic stop them from getting married but they did have to postpone their reception celebration for a year later. From all the laughter, tears, hugs and love I witnessed, I think it was well worth the wait. ❤

A special thank you to one of my closest and most talented friends, Carrie Turner, for assisting me. I couldn't have done it without you!

I've never been good at goodbyes so this is about gratitude. It was 22 years ago this month that I graduated from Western Kentucky University with a photojournalism degree. Every month since, I've been a full-time photographer in some capacity. I know I'm one of the lucky ones.

In the fall of 2019, I accepted a photographer position at Grand Valley State University and I've been slowly closing up my business. Today, I'm cranking out my last edits. The past nine years couldn't have been successful without the support, encouragement and advice of so many people. Thank you for believing in me, trusting me and allowing me into your lives.

Running your own business is tough. I didn't get rich but I was able to help support my family. I learned a lot and I made mistakes. Thank you for your grace.

I'm still taking photos and I'm still learning. Above all, my heart is full of gratitude. You have made this season of my life worth it. ❤

The last time I saw Sarah she was a quiet middle school student. Now, she's a senior with a thrift store vintage style all her own who is a mix of left brain/right brain. She reminded me a bit of myself at that age, honestly, with the exception that I wasn't nearly this comfortable in front of a camera. Keep being the unique soul that you are, Sarah. It was beautiful to witness.

It's the greatest compliment when another photographer hires me. Merissa is a talented photographer who runs her own business, Honey & Bell Photography, in the Detroit area. She's also been a dear friend since she interned at the Muskegon Chronicle back in 2008. At that time, I was expecting my second child and Merissa joked that she was never having babies. It's extra fun to see her now have a beautiful family with an awesome husband and two adorable kids of her own. ❤️

You'd have never known that Ali and Scott were married during a global pandemic if you were judging by the laughter, happiness and merriment that surrounded their wedding celebration on Saturday. So many details changed over the months leading up to their wedding day but they moved forward with grace and love. May this always be so in your marriage. Congratulations, Ali and Scott!

If I could use one word to describe Madison it would be fierce. Although she has an easy laugh and was sweet with her little sisters, I loved the strength behind this powerlifting teen. Madison, I hope your senior year (albeit very different) is just the start to your bigger dreams.

"Miss Kendra, did you like it when I did the arabesque in the grass? I did my very best."

These are the sweetest, most well-behaved kids with beautiful and kind parents. I'm lucky to have photographed this family over the years.

Yes, I did love the arabesque in the grass, Penelope. ❤️

Ebba is a talented photographer herself even though she's only a high school senior. There is something beautiful about seeing a young person be passionate about something you have spent your life doing. I have never grown tired of what I do and I hope you, Ebba, find your creative soul is always nourished for years and years to come.

I photographed their wedding, their firstborn, his first birthday party and now a second baby boy. Nothing makes me happier than to keep being asked to document family milestones.

Doesn't she look like she just walked out of a Town & Country magazine?! Emma was one of my favorite seniors to photograph because of her kind and sweet demeanor. No matter where we took her portrait -- in nature, in fog, on the beach and at the barn -- she had one of the most unique looks.

When photographing family sessions, I have seen many different parenting styles. Katie and Ryan, in my opinion, are the best. They let their boys explore and be curious -- and they were curious along with them. They're affectionate and they're teachers. It was wonderful exploring along with them and witnessing the beautiful humans they are raising.❤️
