Sunlight pouring through the lens reminds me of one of my favorite scenes in all cinema. Forgive me, but I’m about to ultra nerd out here. It’s in the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. You see, the Rohirim were about to be defeated in the Battle of Helms Deep. The White Hand of Saruman had literally blown open the walls and was at the door of the inner sanctum. The end was imminent. But Aragorn remembered. “Look to my coming at first light on the fifth day. At dawn, look to the East.” Gandalf had instilled hope and in the fifth day, used the light to blind the Uruk-hai, charge with the Rohirim, and claim victory. I don’t really have a way in how this ties to weddings. I just wanted to nerd out a second about light.
