I recently revisited The Green Hills of Platte Wildlife Preserve, which is a 48-acre "island of nature" located in Parkville, Missouri. It is known for its diverse landscapes, including restored prairie grasses, wetlands, and dense forest, providing a secluded escape in the middle of the Northland suburbs.

The historic rail bridge in Riverside, Missouri, is a remnant of the Kansas City, Clay County & St. Joseph (KCCC&StJ) Railway, an electric interurban line that operated from 1913 to 1933. Today, this double-arched concrete structure is a central feature of the Interurban Trail in Riverside.

Bridge History & Design
Construction: The bridge was built between 1911 and 1913 as part of a high-speed electric railway connecting Kansas City to St. Joseph.
Design: It is a Luten-designed concrete arch bridge, patented by American engineer Daniel B. Luten. This design was prized for its efficiency and "monumental" aesthetic, often featuring steel-reinforced concrete.
Location: The bridge spans Line Creek near Indian Hills and is located at the end of NW St. Joe Boulevard in Riverside.
Historical Significance: It is one of the few remaining physical structures of what was once billed as the "World's Fastest Interurban," with cars reaching speeds of up to 70–80 mph.

While exploring some smaller trails off the main Line Creek trail, I encountered some deer, just outside of the boundaries of some back yards.
