I’ve been doing professional photography for about 6 years now. But I’ve loved taking pictures all my life. Even back when I was only 5 years old and was too busy taking photos of birds and zoomed in pictures of my parents to notice anything else around me when traveling or even to document all my favorite toys and outfits. I began to do more creative shoots on my own through high school and learned more about photography.
I launched my business right before I started college and worked at the hospital to pay for school and keep my creative side strong. I continued after college because I grew a strong clientele, endless opportunities and felt proud of how much I’ve learned and grown in managing my own business and getting out of my comfort zone.
Years ago I remember thinking “Will someone ever want to hire me for weddings? Would someone even dare to love my work so much they would pay to fly me out to a destination wedding? There is no way that could be me”.
But those things did happen and so much more and I will forever be thankful for those fantastic memories.
But slowly without realizing it, I realized I don’t love it as much as I used to. It drains me instead of inspires me. It’s another thing on my to do list. I didn’t want to give it up after how long I have worked to get where I am. But on top of working as a nurse full time, the burnout and stress have been fighting for my attention and I had to make a decision.
So with a heavy heart I’m here to share that this will be the last year of Hanz Photo & Video. This year I will only be doing 4 more weddings (if you signed a contract then your spot is secured don’t worry!) I will not do any other photoshoots besides weddings and the included engagement shoots. (So feel free to still book and reach out!) I will continue to share my work from this past year that I never got around to sharing and new work from any personal creative photography and the weddings!
Thank you to everyone for all your support, referrals, bookings, tips and kind comments. I will forever cherish your responses to seeing the photos/videos for the first time, updating your profile picture and hanging them on your wall.
