I got to climb up inside the lantern room at Yaquina Head Lighthouse here in Newport — and they almost NEVER let anyone up there with a camera. 🤯

That's the original 1870s Fresnel lens, and the sunset came through the glass at just the right minute and lit up every prism. I had maybe 20 minutes before the light was gone.

A shot I found that apparently I got while up visiting my daughter recently in Newport. Seriously overlooked it.. and now I'm in love with it. Originally 9 photos stitched together into a pano then trimmed down and edited in Lightroom. The resolution and texture of the raw file is jaw-dropping 😲
